Lightweight · Hunting · Remington-700 Platform
MDT HNT26: lightweight hunting chassis with clear variant logic The HNT26 combines a magnesium base, carbon fore-end, carbon grip, and foam-filled carbon stock. The key buying point is not the color, but the exact combination of SA/LA, RH/LH, fixed/folding, and ARCA/Non-ARCA.
Important: This page bundles several technically different variants. The specific variant line is binding.

Our honest assessment

The HNT26 is interesting for users who want to consciously avoid a classic heavy match chassis and build a portable hunting setup with AICS magazine logic. The biggest advantage is the low system weight with modern chassis ergonomics.
The limit lies in compatibility: A Remington-700-like system does not automatically fit. Action length, handedness, recoil lug, magazine standard, and the specific variant must match.

Fits well if … … you have a confirmed Remington-700 SA/LA action or compatible clone and weight really matters when carrying.
… you use AICS magazines and want to precisely adjust the cheek rest, cheek piece, and stock length.

Rather not suitable if … … you are looking for a classic hunting stock without pistol grip or deliberately want a lot of mass for pure bench/match use.
… your action assignment is unclear or you expect a complete rifle including system, barrel, and magazine.

Variant choice without buying mistakes

SA vs. LA Short Action and Long Action are
differing system and magazine lengths. The cartridge alone is not enough for assignment; the actual installed action is decisive.

RH vs. LH Right- and left-hand systems are not interchangeable. Shopify mainly lists RH and selected SA-LH versions.

ARCA vs. Non-ARCA Non-ARCA does not mean "without attachment": the standard fore-end offers M-LOK. ARCA makes sense if you really work with an ARCA clamp, tripod, or corresponding rest.

Fixed vs. folding Folding reduces transport size but is no precision bonus and adds weight compared to the lightest fixed version.

Limits, disadvantages and typical bad purchases

Bad purchase 1: Considering "Remington 700" as generally sufficient. Check action footprint, length, and hand side before ordering.
Bad purchase 2: Choosing ARCA without using an ARCA clamp – or buying Non-ARCA and later expecting direct ARCA clamping.
Bad purchase 3: Assuming magazine is included. The chassis is AICS-based; the matching magazine is chosen separately.

Technical data with practical interpretation

Base & stock Magnesium chassis base with carbon fore-end, carbon grip, and foam-filled carbon stock: consistently designed for low weight.

Weight MDT states 26 oz, about 737 g, for the lightest fixed standard version. Folding mechanism and ARCA increase weight depending on configuration.

Mounting V-block mounting and free-floating barrel with correct installation. This does not replace proper system assignment and installation.

Magazine standard AICS. Magazine must fit action length and cartridge; LA is not the same as SA.

Interfaces Non-ARCA with M-LOK; ARCA variants with integrated ARCA rail. Choose according to actual rest/tripod logic.

Mounting values Available MDT data: Action 60–65 in-lb, long fore-end screws 25 in-lb, possibly short fore-end screws 10 in-lb. Use only for matching HNT26 mounts.

Scope of delivery
HNT26 chassis base with stock and carbon grip in the chosen version, matching carbon fore-end, and the intended action/fore-end screws. Not included: barreled action/system, bolt, magazine, optics, and other accessories.
Safe use
Mount only on a fully unloaded firearm, magazine removed and bolt removed. After mounting, check bolt travel, magazine retention, feeding, free movement, and screw tightness. MDT recommends rechecking the mounts after about 100 rounds. If action compatibility is unclear, a qualified gunsmith should take over.
FAQ
Does every Remington 700 fit? No. SA/LA, RH/LH, and specific action/clone geometry must match the chosen version. Is a magazine included? No. The HNT26 uses AICS magazines; the matching magazine is selected separately. What does Non-ARCA mean? No integrated ARCA rail. M-LOK on the fore-end remains. Which version is suitable for a tripod? For direct ARCA clamping, the ARCA version is the right base. Additionally, the clamp used must fit the rail and load.
Black Raptor · Buying decision instead of data sheet
The HNT26 is strong when weight, AICS logic, and modern cheek ergonomics are really needed. The quality of the decision depends entirely on clean assignment of action, hand side, stock, and fore-end interface before ordering.
