UTG Absolute Co-Witness Mount for RMR: clear height instead of universal compromise This mount connects a compatible Red Dot with RMR footprint to a Picatinny base and brings the optic to Absolute Co-Witness height.
The most important buying point: footprint, rail, and desired sight height must all match. "RMR-style" or a visually similar underside is no substitute for an actually fitting screw pattern.

Our honest assessment
Absolute Co-Witness is not universally a better height. The mechanical sight is more within the Red Dot’s sight window. This can be deliberately desired if rear sight and front sight are used as direct references. Those who prefer a freer sight window can do better with a Lower-1/3 solution.

Limits, Disadvantages and Avoiding Bad Purchases

The most common bad purchases happen in two areas: wrong footprint or wrong height. A technically fitting RMR footprint does not automatically mean that Absolute Co-Witness ergonomically fits your setup.
Before buying, consider your natural head position and the existing sight height. If you have to actively press your head down to get a clean dot picture, the chosen height is not sensible – even if everything fits mechanically.

FAQ
Does every micro optic fit this mount? No. The optic must have a truly compatible RMR footprint. What is the difference to Lower 1/3? With Absolute Co-Witness, the mechanical sight is more on the same sight line as the dot. Lower 1/3 holds rear sight and front sight lower in the window. Is the mount QD? No. The available product data describe a fixed screw mount.
