UTG PRO · DPMS LR-308 · 13-inch KeyMod
Slim free-float handguard—but only for the right LR-308 build This 13-inch Super Slim handguard is specifically listed for the DPMS LR-308/AR-308 platform and uses KeyMod as its accessory interface. These are the two things you need to confirm before buying: “AR10” is not a uniform industry standard, and KeyMod is not interchangeable with M-LOK.

Our honest assessment

Its greatest strength is also its biggest potential pitfall: a 13-inch free-float handguard can provide a clean solution for grip position and accessory placement, but it won’t automatically fit every large-frame AR platform.
If you’re deliberately using a DPMS LR-308-compatible build with KeyMod, this is a clearly defined system component. If you order based only on “AR10 13 inch,” you risk a classic almost-fits mistake.

A good fit if … / Probably not a good fit if …

A good fit if … your build matches the intended DPMS LR-308 platform, you use KeyMod accessories, and 13 inches works with your barrel, gas block, and hand position.

Probably not a good fit if … you have a different AR10/AR-308 pattern, want to keep using M-LOK accessories without an adapter, or haven’t confirmed receiver/barrel nut/rail height compatibility.

Compatibility first: AR10 isn’t always AR10

DPMS LR-308 platform The product listing explicitly names DPMS LR-308. That matters more than the general term “AR10.” Receiver geometry, barrel nut system, and rail height must match the specific platform.

KeyMod handguard
nd accessories must be KeyMod-compatible or attached using a suitable adapter. M-LOK accessories do not fit directly just because both systems use slots.

13 inches The length offers plenty of grip and mounting space while remaining more compact than 15-inch systems. Still, check the gas block, barrel profile, muzzle area, and accessory placement beforehand.

Free Float The handguard is designed as a free-float system. You only get the benefit with correct installation and compatible platform hardware.

Practical benefits

Hand position 13 inches provide a large area for a consistent support-hand position without automatically adding the maximum overall length of a 15-inch handguard.

Accessory placement KeyMod points allow precise positioning of compatible accessories. Plan your sling, light, rail sections, and support points together so they don't block one another.

Slim profile The Super-Slim design is for users who don't want the wide grip profile of a quad-rail. The feel can still change significantly once accessories are installed.

Platform compatibility With LR-308 builds, matching components correctly is more important than with many standard accessories. Identify the receiver and mounting system first, then choose the handguard.

Limitations, drawbacks, and how to avoid a bad purchase

Not universally compatible with AR10: The DPMS LR-308 context must match your existing system.
KeyMod is a fixed choice: If you've standardized entirely on M-LOK, consider the additional cost of adapters or different accessories.
13 inches require clearance: Account for the gas block, barrel, muzzle area, and existing attachments.
Installation is system-critical: If you're unsure about the receiver or barrel nut standard, don't decide based on appearance or length.

Technical specifications with practical context

Platform DPMS LR-308 / AR-308 context according to the product listing. Don't assume compatibility with other AR10 patterns.

Length 13 inches. Plenty of grip and accessory space, with less length than typical 15-inch systems.

Interface KeyMod. Check that your existing accessories are compatible.

Design Super Slim Free Float. Suitable for a slim free-float build, provided the platform is compatible.

What's included
1 × UTG PRO 13-inch Super-Slim KeyMod Free-Float Handguard for the DPMS LR-308 context specified in the listing. Additional mounting components are included only if they come with the specific manufacturer's package; the existing Shopify record does not reliably list them individually.
Safe use
Install only on a fully unloaded, secured system and use suitable tools. If you're unsure about receiver, barrel nut, or rail height compatibility, have the installation checked by a qualified professional. After installation, check that it's secure, that the gas block and barrel have clearance, and that controls can be operated freely.
FAQ
Does this handguard fit every AR10? No. The listing specifically names the DPMS LR-308 context; other AR10/AR-308 patterns may differ. Can I mount M-LOK accessories directly? No. The accessory interface is KeyMod. Other accessories require a compatible interface or a suitable adapter. Why 13 inches? 13 inches offer a balance between a long grip and mounting area and less overall length than a 15-inch system. Whether that's right for you depends on your specific build. What's the most important thing to check before buying? DPMS LR-308 compatibility, the receiver/barrel nut system, gas block clearance, and your KeyMod accessories.
Black-Raptor buying checklist
Confirm the LR-308 pattern and KeyMod first If your system really matches the intended DPMS LR-308 build and you deliberately use KeyMod, this 13-inch Super-Slim handguard is a straightforward free-float solution. Without confirming platform compatibility, it's not a sensible blind purchase.
