The ring height should simultaneously provide clearance and keep the sight line where the cheek weld remains natural. This two-piece ring set fits a 30-mm scope tube and can be released from a suitable cross-slot rail via adjustable QD levers.
Low, Medium, and High differ not only in name: saddle height, ring center, possible outer diameter of the objective bell, and manufacturer weight change with the chosen variant. The selection should therefore be based on the complete setup, including protective caps and adjustment ring.

Low holds the optic closest to the rail. Medium provides five millimeters more saddle height, High twelve millimeters more compared to Low. More height helps with a larger objective bell but can also worsen head position. The lowest variant with safe clearance is often the more harmonious choice in practice.

Manufacturer documents differ by one millimeter: The UTG catalog states a maximum outer diameter of 49/59/73 mm for Low, Medium, and High, while a separate UTG datasheet lists 50/60/74 mm. We deliberately use the smaller values. These are also not a universal fit guarantee, as rail height, optic contour, caps, and platform also play a role.
Interface and construction


30-mm mount: The ring set is designed for a tube with a 30 mm outer diameter; 25.4 mm and 34 mm tubes do not fit directly.

Two freely positionable rings: Each ring requires 22 mm of space on the rail. The free mounting zones on the scope must match this distance and the platform.

QD Lever Lock: The lateral lever tension is adjusted on the specific rail. The cross pin must sit fully in the chosen slot.

Four cap screws per ring: The ring halves are tightened evenly and crosswise; synthetic protective tape lies between ring and tube.

Material specification: UTG Europe lists the combination of steel/aluminum and a matte black finish.

Our assessment
The strength lies in the combination of freely selectable ring spacing and quickly releasable rail clamp. This is useful if the optic is occasionally removed or multiple setups are tested on the same platform. The levers do not replace a proper basic adjustment: Unters
Different rail sizes or too loosely adjusted clamping plates can affect repeatability.
The limit is just as clear. Two straight single rings do not create any forward offset. If the correct eye relief is only achievable with a forward-offset optic, a cantilever mount is the technically more suitable form. A large objective value alone does not justify High if it makes the cheek weld unnaturally high.
Buy or not buy?
Buy if: your scope has a 30 mm tube, the platform offers a suitable Picatinny or specifically tested Weaver cross slot, two single rings find enough mounting surface, and you can determine Low, Medium, or High based on clearance and head position.
Do not buy if: the tube measures 25.4 or 34 mm, a dovetail rail is present, cantilever forward offset is mandatory, the model discontinuation conflicts with your spare parts or procurement strategy, or the installation height remains unclear without measurement.
Trainer tip

First set the lever tension on the rail, then insert the optic: Place each ring with the lever open on the unloaded platform, fully insert the cross bolt into the chosen slot, and begin closing the lever. Adjust the lateral hex screw so that the clamping plate makes contact while there is still lever travel left, and the lever then locks securely. This way, uneven clamping can be detected before the tube complicates diagnosis.
Two more product-specific user tips

Set eye relief in the real cheek weld: Align eye relief and reticle in a stable, repeatable shooting position. Then tighten the ring cap screws in small, crosswise steps. The UTG manual states about 15 in-lb for the ring screws and recommends using the short leg of the Allen key as a handle to avoid unnecessary leverage.

Mark repeat position: Always use the same cross slots if possible and place the cross bolts on the same slot flank when reattaching. Then check lever closure, objective clearance, and point of impact. A QD clamping described as repeatable is not a zero stop guarantee.

How do I choose between Low, Medium, and High? Measure the distance between the top of the rail and the widest part of the mounted optic including caps. Choose the lowest option that allows safe clearance and a natural head position. The saddle heights are 10, 15, and 22 mm. Why are 49/59/73 mm listed instead of 50/60/74 mm? Two UTG risers differ by one millimeter each. The catalog lists 49/59/73 mm, the separate datasheet 50/60/74 mm. This article deliberately uses the more conservative values; the actual setup must still be measured. Do 1-inch or 34 mm scopes fit? No. The mount is designed for a tube with a 30 mm outer diameter.
