UTG RG-FL860: The measuring point matters, not the 1-inch estimate The RG-FL860 is a fixed slide-on solution for matching cylindrical lamp bodies – with two clear fit ranges: 23.6–24.2 mm with plastic insert or 25.4–26.0 mm without insert.
The honest limit: intermediate sizes, tapered housing zones, and direct M-LOK or KeyMod mounts are not approved. Measure on the straight lamp tube before purchase.

The RG-FL860 holds a matching cylindrical lamp body on a Picatinny or Weaver rail. Without joints, offset, or quick-release lever, the setup remains simple and compact.
The plastic insert does not create a stepless universal range but the smaller of the two documented diameter ranges. If you only measure at the lamp head or want to compensate for an intermediate size improvisation, plan outside the documented fit range.



Fits well if … … your lamp measures 23.6–24.2 mm with insert or 25.4–26.0 mm without insert at the straight clamping point.
… a Picatinny/Weaver rail is present and the lamp should sit firmly parallel to it.

Purchase check: Light and rail must fit together


1. Measure at the right point Measure the outer diameter where the ring can fully sit on a straight, round surface. Head, end cap, cooling fins, loading port, and switch must not protrude into the clamping zone.


2. Hit one of the two ranges With plastic insert, it’s 23.6–24.2 mm; without insert, 25.4–26.0 mm. This does not create a continuous range from 23.6 to 26.0 mm.


3. Check primary interface The base is designed for Picatinny or Weaver. M-LOK or KeyMod require a dedicated direct mount or a properly attached rail section.


4. Maintain operating space Before tightening, check that the lamp head, tailcap, switch, and battery change remain free.


What the features practically change


Fixed slide-on base The mount is attached to the rail and secured with hex screws. It cannot be swung away or removed without tools.


Aluminium, black anodised The metal construction is designed for a compact, simple build. Contact points and screws should be checked after mounting and transport.


Plastic insert The insert reduces the ring to 23.6–24.2 mm and separates the lamp housing and metal ring. It is the intended part for this range.


No published torque specification Values from other UTG rings do not apply. The instructions on the delivered product are decisive.


Typical misbuys, disadvantages and limits

“About 25 mm” is not enough: If the lamp doesn’t fit in one of the occupied ranges, a ring with the correct diameter is the better choice.
No quick function: The RG-FL860 offers neither QD lever nor offset or flip-to-side.
Discontinued model: The model is no longer actively listed; identical replacements may be harder to find later.

Mounting, checking and care


Fit dry Unload and secure the setup. First determine lamp position, rail slot and operating direction.


Tighten evenly Use only the intended insert and tighten screws evenly. Do not apply foreign torque values.


Check fit After the first uses and after shocks or transport, check for rotation or longitudinal displacement.


Keep contact surfaces clean Dirt under the insert or rail clamp can change the fit. Regularly check ring, insert and screws.
