A sling pack makes sense when important gear needs to be more quickly accessible than in a deep backpack, but significantly more has to be carried than in a small shoulder bag. The PVC-SP247B model combines a body-close crossbody carrying system with several separate access levels, a padded device compartment, and external MOLLE webbing.
With a total of 20 liters, the bag is aimed at users who want to transport electronics, documents, glasses, food, and smaller gear in an organized way. It can be set up for right- or left-handed use and rotated forward for access. It remains a one-shoulder system: for consistently heavy loads or long hikes, a classic backpack distributes the weight more evenly.

Crossbody instead of two-shoulder backpack
The padded shoulder strap is usable on both sides. A large D-ring serves for quick length adjustment; the quick-release buckle is lockable. Additionally, adjustable straps on the sides and bottom stabilize the bag. This allows a not fully packed bag to be tightened so the contents shift less while walking.
The padded back panels reduce point pressure and create a body-close contact. The 1.5-inch wide carry handle is intended for immediate lifting, while the shoulder strap takes over hands-free transport. Those who frequently switch between carrying on the back and accessing in front of the body especially benefit from this design.

Important carrying limit: Ambidextrous means the strap can be set up for both carrying directions. It does not mean the load is distributed on both shoulders. For heavy loads, long distances, or sensitive shoulders, a two-shoulder backpack is the more honest choice.

The compartments follow different access speeds
On top is a fleece-lined pocket for glasses or other scratch-sensitive small items. Below, the upper front pocket measuring 8 x 4 inches offers an internal mesh pocket with zipper and an open slip pocket. Two external MOLLE rows with hook-and-loop surface accept flat additions or patches.
The lower front pocket measures 8 x 13.5 inches according to UTG and is designed for business, travel, and organizational accessories. Four external MOLLE rows expand placement options. Side slip pockets allow quick access to items that should not first be taken out of the main compartment.
In the front organizational area, smartphone, charger, portable hard drive, and other small items can be stored separately. This is more relevant in everyday life than a single large opening: cables, keys, and storage media remain findable and don’t have to be searched for among clothing or food.

Main compartment, device compartment, and rear storage

Hinweis zu den Herstellermaßen: UTG nennt außen 10 x 5,5 x 17 Zoll, für das flexible Hauptfach jedoch 11 x 5 x 17 Zoll. Die abweichende erste Maßangabe lässt sich bei einer Textiltasche durch unterschiedliche Messpunkte erklären, ist aber keine belastbare Hartschalen-Innenkontur. Für starre Gegenstände muss das reale Objektmaß mit Reserve geprüft werden.

Material und Wetterschutz richtig einordnen
Die Tasche besteht laut Hersteller aus wasserabweisendem 1200D-Polyester. Das robuste Gewebe und die kräftigen Reißverschlüsse sind für wiederkehrenden Transport ausgelegt. Wasserabweisend ist jedoch nicht wasserdicht: Nähte, Reißverschlüsse und Öffnungen bilden bei längerem Regen mögliche Eintrittsstellen.
Elektronik, Dokumente oder Wechselkleidung sollten bei nasser Umgebung zusätzlich in geeigneten Innenbeuteln geschützt werden. Das gilt besonders, wenn die Tasche außen am Fahrzeug, auf offenem Standgelände oder über längere Zeit in starkem Niederschlag genutzt wird.

Unsere Einschätzung
Der stärkste Kaufgrund ist die Kombination aus schnellem Crossbody-Zugriff und ungewöhnlich tiefer Innenorganisation. Brille, Kleinteile, Elektronik, Dokumente und ein Gerät der 15-Zoll-Klasse erhalten getrennte Plätze, ohne dass für jeden Zugriff das komplette Hauptfach geöffnet werden muss.
Die häufigste Fehlannahme wäre, 20 Liter automatisch mit einem komfortablen Tourenrucksack gleichzusetzen. Das Volumen reicht für Tagesausrüstung oder eine kompakte Übernachtung, doch der einzelne Schultergurt setzt der dauerhaft sinnvollen Beladung eine ergonomische Grenze. Ebenso ist die Tasche trotz MOLLE-Gurtband kein spezielles Waffenfutteral und enthält keine dafür ausgewiesene Waffenfixierung.
Das Herstellergewicht beträgt 3,34 lb. Dieser Wert gehört zur leeren Tasche und darf nicht mit dem zulässigen Tragegewicht verwechselt werden; eine maximale Zuladung nennt die geprüfte Herstellerseite nicht.

Kaufen oder nicht kaufen?
Kaufen, wenn: du einen beidseitig einrichtbaren 20-Liter-Sling-Pack mit schnellem Zugriff, mehreren Organisationszonen, MOLLE-Erweiterung und gepolstertem Gerätefach suchst. Besonders stimmig ist er für Range-Tage, Pendeln, Fahrzeugausrüstung oder kurze Touren mit moderater Last.
Nicht kaufen, wenn: du schwere Ausrüstung über lange Strecken tragen, vollständig wasserdichten Schutz, ein geprüftes Waffenfutteral, ein fest definiertes Hartschalen-Innenmaß oder eine sichere Passform für jedes Gerät mit 15-Zoll-Bildschirm erwartest.

Ausbilder-Tipp

Zugriffszonen immer gleich belegen: Lege ein festes Schema fest: zeitkritische Kleinteile oben oder seitlich, Elektronik im Organizer, Dokumente rückwärtig und weiche Volumenteile ins Hauptfach. Danach den Pack auf beiden Körperseiten nach vorn drehen und prüfen, ob Reißverschlüsse, D-Ring und Schnelltrennschnalle ohne Blickkontakt erreichbar bleiben. Wiederholbare Belegung spart im Training mehr Zeit als zusätzliche MOLLE-Taschen.

Seitengurte nach jeder Beladung neu einstellen: Erst das Hauptfach packen, dann die Gurte an Seiten und Boden gleichmäßig anlegen. Zu früh festgezogene Kompressionsgurte verkleinern den nutzbaren Innenraum; lose Gurte lassen den Schwerpunkt beim Drehen nach vorn wandern.

Can the shoulder strap be set up for both carrying directions? Yes. UTG describes the padded shoulder strap as ambidextrous. This allows the bag to be set up for left- or right-side carrying; the load still remains on one shoulder.
Is the bag waterproof? No. The manufacturer states water-repellent 1200D polyester. For prolonged or heavy rain, electronics, documents, and clothing should be additionally packed waterproof inside.
