Mossberg 500/590 · 12 Gauge · Picatinny + Shell Carrier
UTG 590 Optic Mount: Optic base and 4-round carrier in a specialized setup The UTG MT-MB590 combines a 13-slot Picatinny rail with a detachable four-round shell carrier for compatible Mossberg 500/590 in 12 Gauge. The crucial point is the platform: this mount is explicitly not intended for the 590M.
Black-Raptor classification: Useful if exactly this Mossberg platform is present and rail plus side carrier are desired together. Not a universal adapter for other shotguns.

Our honest buying advice

Fits well if … … you use a compatible Mossberg 500 or 590 in 12 Gauge.
… you need a Picatinny base for a dot or suitable rings.
… the detachable four-round carrier fits your handling concept.

Fits less if … … you own a 590M.
… you are looking for a universal shotgun mount for multiple platforms.
… height, optic position, or carrier access are not checked in advance.

Practical effect

13-slot Picatinny The continuous top creates defined positions for a compatible optic mount. This makes selection easier compared to improvised adapter chains.

Detachable 4-round carrier Additional cartridges can be organized on the side without the carrier necessarily having to remain permanently mounted.

6061-T6 aluminum The construction remains comparatively light; Shopify lists about 119 g al
s Product weight.

No permanent modification According to the available product data, installation is intended without permanent alteration. After installation, always fully check function and fit.

Limits, disadvantages & avoiding bad purchases

Important: The 590M is excluded. Also check your exact Mossberg model, 12-gauge version, and the actual space situation with the planned optic.
A Picatinny rail does not automatically solve the sight height issue. Dot, rings, or adapters must fit the desired eye line. The carrier also changes the lateral geometry; loading and operation procedures should be dry and safely tested after installation.
