Ballistol Cold Degreaser: clean preparation before bluing or assembly begins The cold degreaser removes oil and grease films from suitable metal surfaces. Exactly this is crucial before bluing, bonding, or especially clean assembly.
The most important limit: degreasing is not corrosion protection. A degreased metal surface must be further treated or subsequently protected depending on the follow-up work.

Whoever does not degrease cleanly before bluing or assembly builds errors into the next step. The cold degreaser is therefore a preparation product and not a substitute for gun oil, cleaner, or preservation.
In the shop, 50 ml spray, 200 ml spray, and 5 litre canister are available. The choice is primarily a question of consumption and workbench size – not the effectiveness class.

Limits, Disadvantages and Avoiding Bad Purchases

After degreasing, protection is missing: don’t leave bare or sensitive metal surfaces unprotected for too long.
Don’t confuse with care oil: the product removes oil instead of applying it.
Check material: with unknown surfaces or coatings, test compatibility first and follow manufacturer instructions.
