Vista H50R LRF – 640 Specialist for Distance
The H50R combines a 640×512 sensor, 50 mm F0.9 lens, and integrated laser rangefinder. It is clearly designed for open areas and distance observation – not for maximum field of view at close range.

Fits well / fits rather not

Fits well For fields, large meadows, and open territories when range, detail at distance, and rangefinding are more important than an especially wide field of view.

Fits rather not For dense forest, short distances, or quick scanning of very close areas. The 50 mm focal length is deliberately narrower and requires steadier scanning.

Practical use

50 mm F0.9 High focal length for more detail effect at distance. The price for this is a narrower field of view – ideal for open areas, less universal in the forest.

640×512 / 12 µm Solid detail base for observation and classification. The sensor resolution helps especially when the target appears smaller in the image.

LRF up to 1200 m Distance does not have to be just estimated on large areas. Measurements help with orientation but do not replace a secure situational assessment.

60 Hz & Vision+ Display Smooth representation when panning and high-resolution display support longer observation.

Limits & Avoiding Bad Purchases

The most important point: detection range is not the same as secure identification or hunting recognition. Weather, humidity, vegetation, and target size significantly influence the usable practical range.
The H50R is not a universal "more is better" device. Those who often work in the forest or at short distances usually benefit more from a wider field of view than from 50 mm focal length.

Technical Data with Practical Interpretation

FAQ
Why 50 mm instead of 35 mm? 50 mm prioritize range and detail at distance; 35 mm typically offer a wider field of view and are more versatile at shorter distances. Is the H50R suitable for forest? Only to a limited extent. It works technically, but the narrow field of view makes quick scanning in close range less comfortable. What does the rangefinder practically provide? It delivers a measurement value where estimating over large areas quickly becomes inaccurate. This facilitates orientation and distance awareness.
Black-Raptor classification: The Vista H50R is a clear specialist for open areas. Those who mainly observe fields and distance get a coherent package; those seeking maximum versatility should check a model with less focal length and more field of view.
