Petromax · Fire Pit · Outdoor Kitchen
Tyropit: large stainless steel fire pit with heat shield and ash management The Petromax Tyropit combines a large fire opening with double-walled air guidance, charcoal grate, ash pan with spark dome, and heat shield. With 62.3 cm outer width and approx. 12.1 kg, it is a stable fire pit for garden, camp, and modular outdoor kitchen – not for spontaneous lightweight packing.

Our honest assessment
The Tyropit makes sense if you want a fixed, controllable fire base with cleaner ash handling and expansion options. It neither replaces fire protection nor distance to the ground; the heat shield reduces heat transfer downward but does not automatically make sensitive surfaces fireproof.

Fits well if … … you are looking for a larger fire pit for garden, terrace with suitable setup area, or campsite.
… you want to cook later with a grill plate, tripod, or cast iron around a central fire pit.

Fits less if … … you need a small, frequently carried fire bowl or minimal storage space.
… you want to use it on combustible or heat-sensitive ground without additional protective measures.

Features and practical benefits

Double-walled air guidance The design supports an orderly airflow in the combustion chamber. Dry wood and free airways remain crucial for a clean burn.

Heat shield Reduces direct heat emission downward. Still, ground, minimum distances, and local
Check rules before lighting.

Ash pan with spark dome Makes collecting residues easier and supports an orderly interior. Remove ash only after it has completely cooled.

57.5 cm top opening Plenty of room for wood and a large fire image; accordingly, space requirements and safety radius increase.

Avoid limits, disadvantages and bad purchases
12.1 kg and 62.3 cm external dimension make the Tyropit portable, but not handy like a small camp fire bowl. Accessories for grilling or cooking are not automatically part of the basic set. Open fire remains dependent on wind, sparks and location; never operate indoors or unattended.
Technical data with practical interpretation

Material Stainless steel – robust for permanent outdoor use, becomes fully hot during operation.

Dimensions Approx. 35.5 × 62.3 × 62.3 cm – measure footprint and safety distance realistically before purchase.

Weight Approx. 12.1 kg – stable, but rather vehicle-near or stationary than for longer carrying distances.

Upper edge Approx. 57.5 cm – large fire opening for logs and generous working area.

Scope of delivery

Safety and application

Operate only outdoors Place on a stable, suitable surface with sufficient distance to combustible materials. Never leave fire unattended.

Move only when cold Metal parts and ash can remain hot for a long time. Clean, empty and transport only after complete cooling.

FAQ
Is the Tyropit a grill plate? No. It is the fire pit. Grill plate, tripod or other cooking accessories are added separately. Does the heat shield protect every surface? No. It reduces heat emission downward but does not replace a suitable fireproof surface or safety distances. Is it easy to transport? With approx. 12.1 kg, vehicle transport is realistic; for frequent carrying over longer distances it is rather large and heavy.
Black Raptor · Buying advice
The Tyropit fits if a large, stable fire base with sensible air and ash guidance is sought. Those who only need a small mobile fire bowl buy unnecessarily much size and weight here.
