Black Raptor Buying Guide
Petromax Muffin Pan mf6 – six servings made of solid cast iron
The mf6 is a heavy cast iron pan with six cavities for sweet or savory single servings. According to Shopify data, it fits Petromax Dutch ovens ft6 and ft9 and can also be used in suitable oven or grill setups.

Fits well / fits rather not

Fits well
for six even muffins or savory portions
for users of Petromax ft6 or ft9
when heat retention and robust cast iron construction are desired

Fits rather not
for ultralight camping kitchens
when significantly more than six servings are needed at once
when maintenance, drying, and oiling of cast iron should be avoided

What does this mean in practice?

Six separate cavities Portions stay separate and can be portioned more evenly than with a large open baking pan.

Cast iron The high material weight stores heat well but reacts slower to temperature changes than thin cookware.

ft6 / ft9 The listed compatibility makes planning an existing Petromax Dutch oven setup easier.

Pre-seasoned surface The available Shopify data indicates the pan is pre-treated. Still, cast iron benefits from proper care after each use.

Limits, disadvantages & avoiding bad purchases

About 3.5 kg is not trekking weight. The mass is an advantage for heat retention at a stationary camp but clearly ballast on the go. Also, cast iron is not maintenance-free: avoid moisture after cleaning, dry completely, and oil the surface thinly if needed.
