What the paste delivers in practice

Do I have to cure after every use? No. With an intact patina, cleaning, thorough drying, and if needed a very thin care layer is usually enough.
Does the paste help against existing rust? It serves for care and prevention. Visible rust should be removed before rebuilding the protective layer.
Why apply only thinly? A thick layer doesn’t provide extra protection and can become sticky. Even and sparing application is more sensible.
