GRAYL Mission EXP Backpack 30L The more compact Mission backpack for travel, everyday use, and day trips – focused on water access, organization, and tech instead of maximum volume.

Fits well
for everyday use, travel, and longer day trips
when 30 liters is a versatile middle ground
for GRAYL bottle, hydration bladder, and tech

Fits less well
if you regularly need lots of change of clothes or group gear
for heavy multi-day loads
if maximum volume reserve is more important than compactness

Practical use

More suitable for everyday use than 35L 30 liters are enough for water, rain gear, food, EDC, and tech without immediately looking like a big hiking backpack in everyday life.

Organization instead of main compartment chaos Internal frame, numerous pockets, BottleLock/BottleDrop logic, hydration prep, and laptop compartment separate different gear sensibly.

Variant choice & compatibility
Shopify offers Covert Black, Coyote Brown, Olive Drab, and Wander Blue at the same price. Functionally, the variants are identical. The laptop compartment is specified for devices up to 17 inches; GRAYL bottles and many bottles up to about 32 oz fit into the water organization.
Limits / disadvantages / wrong purchase

30 liters can be tight on weekend trips with lots of clothes.
Not a substitute for a real trekking backpack with large load volume.
Additional G-Mod pouches, hydration bladder, and filter bottle are not automatically included.
If you regularly pack to the volume limit, you should choose the 35L directly.
