Variant choice without buying mistakes


Polyester – Art. 2494 100% polyester, waterproof coated and with taped seams. The more robust choice when rain and weather protection are the priority.


Cotton blend fabric – Van Tarp TC, Art. 2492 65% polyester / 35% cotton. Especially UV-stable and pleasant as sun protection in hot regions, but heavier and with significantly lower water column.


Double keder 7 or 3.5 mm keder expands compatibility with common keder rails. Still check your own rail on the vehicle before purchase.


250 × 250 cm Both variants cover the same area. The choice mainly concerns material, weight, and weather profile – not size.


Limits, disadvantages & avoiding buying mistakes
The two Shopify variants are technically not the same tarp. Polyester weighs about 960 g and is clearly designed for rain protection with 8,000 mm water column. The TC model weighs about 1.4 kg and has less than 1,300 mm water column according to the manufacturer; its strength lies mainly in UV stability and sun protection. Tarp poles and pegs are not included with either.

Safe use
Fully and tension-free insert the keder, evenly tension the tarp, and guide the lines to minimize tripping hazards. Reduce the area or take down in strong wind; do not treat the vehicle attachment as an unlimited load-bearing anchor point.

Which variant is better in rain? The polyester variant is clearly the weather-oriented choice with 8,000 mm water column and taped seams.
When is the TC model worthwhile? When UV stability, sun protection, and the typical polycotton material feel are more important than minimal weight and high water column.
Are poles and pegs included? No. According to the manufacturer, neither tarp poles nor pegs are included.
BR classification: For changeable weather, we would choose polyester within these two variants. Those who mainly camp in hot, sunny regions and consciously prefer polycotton go for the TC model.
