Tasmanian Tiger Side Pocket 17 IRR IRR version of the modular Side Pocket 17 for professional setups where reduced infrared reflection is explicitly relevant. About 6.5 liters of additional volume, MOLLE reverse attachment, and internal MOLLE hook-and-loop panels make it a clearly defined backpack module.
Fits well / fits rather not

Fits well
if your setup explicitly requires an IRR-capable side pocket
if you want to carry gear or function separate from the main compartment
if your existing backpack offers a suitable MOLLE panel

Fits rather not
if IRR is not relevant for your use case
if you only need more total volume instead of modular separation
if additional side width or asymmetric load would be problematic

Features & Benefits

IRR material The version is designed for requirements where reduced infrared reflection should be part of the overall system.

Approx. 6.5 l additional volume Expands the existing backpack with a clearly defined packing zone without modifying the main compartment.

Internal organization MOLLE hook-and-loop and removable padded divider help position contents reproducibly.

Limits & Avoiding Wrong Purchases
IRR is not a general quality bonus but a special requirement. For normal outdoor, range, or everyday use, the standard version may be more economical. Additionally: side-mounted load affects center of gravity and overall width. Before purchase, check mounting area, position, access, and planned weight.

FAQ
When is the IRR version worth it? When reduced infrared reflection is a specific professional requirement of the entire setup. For normal use, IRR is not automatically necessary
g. Is the bag a standalone backpack? No. It is designed as a modular add-on compartment for compatible backpacks. How should it be loaded? Load side add-on modules with manageable weight and, if possible, balance them symmetrically so the backpack doesn’t pull to one side. What must be checked before mounting? Sufficient MOLLE area, secure fit, access to the zipper, and a sensible center of gravity for the entire system.
Black-Raptor classification: the right version if you specifically need this modular 6.5-liter expansion with IRR requirement. Without IRR need, the standard version is usually the more practical choice.
