Tatonka Yukon 32 JR
A youth trekking backpack must first fit – and only then hold as much as possible. With 32 litres, the Yukon 32 JR is designed for youths who carry their own sleeping bag, clothes, and basic outdoor gear. The key is not maximum volume but a sensible fit for a shorter back length.

Fits well / fits rather not

Fits well if … a youth carries their own gear on camp, school trips, or first multi-day hikes and a real trekking backpack is needed instead of an oversized adult model.

Fits rather not if … very heavy loads or large winter gear need to be transported. 32 litres and a youth-oriented design are not meant for that.

What you get in practice

32 litres sensibly usable Enough space for sleeping bag, change of clothes, and basic gear without encouraging young users to overpack unnecessarily.

Shorter back length in focus A properly adjusted youth backpack fits more controlled than an adult backpack whose straps and load transfer don’t match the body size.

Learn packing logic Heavy items belong close to the body, frequently needed things on top or outside. This also makes the Yukon 32 JR a good learning backpack for independent packing.

Two colour options Shopify offers the backpack in navy and sage green. Function and purpose remain the same; choice is based on personal preference.

Limits, disadvantages, and avoiding bad purchases Don’t buy based on volume alone: back length and strap routing are more important. Keep weight low: A good backpack won’t make an overly heavy packing list
automatically sensible. Set before the tour start: Adjust hip and shoulder straps with actual load.
Technical data with practical interpretation

Volume 32 litres – compact enough to keep the pack weight in the youth range, but large enough for typical weekend and camp gear.

Product type Youth trekking backpack – sensible when fit and load distribution should be tailored to smaller users.

Variants navy or sage green – no technical difference, just colour choice.

Use case Youth trekking, camp, class trips and first multi-day tours – not intended as a load carrier for adult loads.

Scope of delivery 1 × Tatonka Yukon 32 JR in the chosen colour variant.
Safe and sensible use Adjust with actual load, pack heavy parts close to the back and check before longer stages that shoulder and hip straps sit properly. Young people should not carry loads just because there is still space.
FAQ Who is the Yukon 32 JR for? For young people who carry their own luggage on trekking, camp or class trips and should not use an adult backpack that is too large. Is 32 litres enough for a weekend? For a reduced packing list with sleeping bag, clothes and basic equipment, it can fit well. Bulky winter gear can quickly exceed the space. What is more important: volume or fit? Fit. A slightly smaller backpack that fits well is usually more practical than more volume with poor load transfer. What is the most common wrong purchase? Buying too big so the backpack “grows with you”. If back length and straps don’t fit currently, carrying comfort suffers especially when the backpack is full.
Black Raptor classification
For young users, better to be fitting and controlled than too big and heavy. The Yukon 32 JR is sensible when young people should carry real outdoor gear without forcing them to use an adult backpack.
