Hunting · Shooting Stick · stable field rest
Primos Shooting Stick Apex Carbon tripod platform with rifle clamp for heavy hunting setups and steady, calm shots.
Crucial before buying: At about 3.2 kg, the Apex is deliberately stable rather than ultralight. If you prioritize mileage and minimal weight, think smaller.

Our honest assessment
The Apex Carbon is made for users who want more stability than a simple V-yoke. The rifle clamp reduces movement and relieves strain with heavy setups including suppressor or large optics. For that, the system is significantly heavier and bulkier than a classic stalking stick.

Fits well if … … stability is more important than minimal weight.
… heavy or front-heavy setups need secure support.

Less suitable if … … you’re looking for a very lightweight stick for long mountain tours.
… maximum speed in setup and takedown is more important than platform stability.

Features with practical impact

Rifle clamp Guides the weapon more controlled than a loose V-yoke. Doesn’t unnecessarily stress the stock.

81–157 cm Covers sitting, kneeling, and standing positions.

360° grip Allows controlled tracking without resetting the entire setup.

Approx. 22 kg load capacity Large reserve for heavy setups; actual stability still depends on ground and leg position.

Limits, drawbacks and typical misbuys

Misbuy #1: Assuming the Apex is an ultralight trekking tripod just because it’s “carbon.”
Misbuy #2: Clamping the weapon too tightly in the clamp, unnaturally stressing stock or cheek rest.
Limit: Stability costs weight and packed size. For very dynamic hunting styles, the Trigger Stick Gen3 can be more practical.

Black Raptor · Buying advice instead of filler text
Platform instead of walking stick. If you accept that, you get significantly more stability – if every gram counts, you should opt for a lighter solution.
