Victorinox · 91 mm · 15 functions
Huntsman: the versatile classic for everyday use, travel, and camping With a length of 91 mm, 15 functions, scissors, and a wood saw, the Huntsman strikes a practical balance between a small pocketknife and a full-fledged multitool.
BR take: a great choice if you’ll really use the scissors and saw; unnecessary if you mainly need a blade.

A good fit / probably not a good fit

A good fit if … … you’re looking for a compact Swiss Army knife with scissors, a wood saw, two blades, and classic opener and screwdriver functions.
… everyday use, travel, and light camping matter more to you than maximum durability for tough jobs.

Probably not a good fit if … … you need a locking main blade or a fixed-blade work knife.
… you want to carry as little weight and bulk as possible and rarely use scissors or a saw.

Features and benefits

Scissors + wood saw This combination makes the Huntsman more versatile than many more compact models: scissors for precise work, a saw for small woodworking tasks.

91 mm class Easy to carry in your pocket, yet with a comfortable grip. A larger tool is more comfortable for demanding, sustained work.

15 functions A wide selection of tools without plier handles. This saves space, but doesn’t replace a full-fledged multitool with pliers.

Non-locking blades The classic design is straightforward, but calls for a clean cutting direction and controlled pressure—avoid sideways or prying force.

Limitations, drawbacks, and how to avoid a bad purchase

The Huntsman isn’t a fixed-blade outdoor knife or a wood saw for large-diameter logs. If you mainly carve, chop, or do very demanding work, consider a more robust specialist tool.
len.
The 15 functions are only worth it if you actually need the extra scissors, saw and tool selection. For minimalist EDC, a slimmer Victorinox is often a better choice.

Safe use
Since the blades do not lock, never pry or push against the direction of the joint. Keep your fingers clear of the closing path, open tools fully, and clean and dry them after exposure to moisture or dirt. Follow local regulations on transport and carry.
FAQ
Does the Huntsman have a locking blade? No. The blades do not lock. Why is the wood saw useful? It is much more efficient than the blade for small branches or pieces of wood and clearly makes the knife more suitable for outdoor use. What’s the difference between it and the Huntsman Wood? The classic Huntsman has 15 functions, including tweezers and a toothpick; the Huntsman Wood features a walnut handle and a slightly different set of functions. Does it replace a multitool? For many small tasks, yes, but not if you need pliers, heavy-duty screwdriving or high mechanical strength.
Black Raptor · an honest assessment
The Huntsman is a great all-rounder if you actually use the scissors and wood saw. For cutting tasks alone or tough outdoor work, there are more suitable, simpler tools.
