Nordforest Hunting · Butchering Set · MoVa-58
Five knives plus sharpening steel instead of one all-purpose knife for every task The set is designed for structured work in the game chamber, hunting cabin, or butchering area: different blade shapes cover opening, disassembling, meat processing, and filleting more precisely.
Black-Raptor classification: useful as a stationary work set; for the belt or ultra-light hunting walks it is clearly too bulky at around 1170 g.

Does the set suit you?

Fits well if … … you regularly process game further and don’t want to force different work steps with the same blade.
… easy-care plastic handles and an included sharpening steel are more important to you than natural materials.

Rather doesn’t fit if … … you are only looking for a compact hunting knife for on the go.
… you want to assemble a specialized professional butcher set with individually selected single knives.

Tools & practical role

Guts knife · 14.5 cm For controlled opening steps where a blade shape designed for this is more useful than a universal tip.

Curved blade · 13.5 cm Supports pulling cuts along contours and complements the straighter working knife.

Chef & butcher knife 24 cm Chef’s knife for larger cutting surfaces; 16 cm narrow butcher knife for more precise work on meat parts.

Fillet knife & sharpening steel 29.5 cm Fillet knife for long pulling cuts; sharpening steel for quick touch-ups during work.
Limits & Avoiding Bad Buys
Not a mobile minimal set: Around 1170 g total weight and several long blades make it suitable for the game room, vehicle, or hunting cabin. A sharpening steel hones an edge in between but does not replace fully resharpening damaged or very dull blades.
Technical data with practical interpretation

Steel MoVa-58, approx. 55–56 HRC – deliberately practical and easy to resharpen instead of maximally hard.

Handles Plastic – easy to care for and sensible for frequent cleaning.

Weight Approx. 1170 g – intended as a complete work set, not as a lightweight belt setup.

Origin Made in Spain.

FAQ
How many knives are included? Five different knives plus sharpening steel; a synthetic leather case is also included in the delivery. Is the set intended for the belt? No. Size and weight clearly indicate it’s for the game room, hunting cabin, or vehicle. What is the sharpening steel for? For regular intermediate honing before the edge becomes noticeably dull. It does not replace comprehensive sharpening for heavier wear.
Black Raptor · Buying advice
The added value lies in the division of labour: If you regularly process game, this set makes more sense than trying to cover opening, cutting, and filleting with a single knife.
