Meopta MeoHunter R5 3-15x50 SFP RD 3–15x50 hunting scope with illuminated reticle in the second focal plane – optionally 4C or BDC 3, with 30 mm main tube and parallax adjustment.
Buying advice
Fits well if …
you prefer a visually constant size SFP reticle
you want to choose between 4C for classic hunting use and BDC 3 for additional holdover marks
3–15x and 50 mm suit stand hunting, field edge, and blind
Less suitable if …
you want to use holdover marks proportionally regardless of magnification – then FFP is more logical
you are looking for an extremely compact stalking scope with 1x start
you prioritize a particularly lightweight stalking scope
Variant selection
4C Classic, clear hunting reticle for quick target acquisition without unnecessary optical clutter.
BDC 3 Additional holdover marks can be useful with deliberately matched ballistics; with SFP their reference only applies under the intended magnification conditions.
Features & benefits
SFP / 2nd focal plane The reticle remains visually the same size in the sight picture – pleasant for many classic hunting applications.
3–15x Covers medium magnification for overview up to controlled target assessment at distance.
50 mm objective Offers more light reserve than smaller objectives without reaching the dimensions of a 56 mm scope.
Parallax from approx. 10 m Helpful at higher magnifications and changing distances.
Limits & avoid bad purchases
With SFP, holdover marks do not automatically remain proportional across all magnifications. Anyone who wants to actively use BDC marks for corrections must know for which magnification the respective scale is intended. For consistent holdover work across the entire zoom range, the FFP version is the more suitable choice.
Technical data with practical interpretation
Magnification: 3–15x → versatile range for stand hunting, field, and shooting range.
Objective: 50 mm → good twilight reserve with moderate size.
Main tube: 30 mm → suitable 30 mm mount required.
Reticle: 4C or BDC 3, illuminated, SFP → choose variant according to application.
Adjustment increment: 1 cm / 100 m → straightforward correction logic when zeroing.
Length / weight: approx. 340 mm / 635 g → consider balance and mounting height in advance.
Field of view: approx. 12.4–2.4 m / 100 m → high magnification brings detail but costs overview.
Eye relief: approx. 98–95 mm → adjust mounting position to natural shooting position.

FAQ
4C or BDC 3? 4C is the simpler hunting choice. BDC 3 makes sense if additional holdover marks are deliberately used with your own ballistics. What is the difference to the FFP version? With SFP the reticle stays visually the same size. With FFP it scales with magnification, making holdover marks proportionally usable. Can I simply alwa
r 15x use? No. More magnification reduces the field of view and amplifies visible movements. For many situations, a lower setting is more practical.
Black-Raptor classification: The SFP version is the simpler choice for classic hunting use with a constantly visible reticle. 4C for maximum clarity, BDC 3 only if the holdover marks are really consciously used.
