The Sordin Supreme Pro-X LED is an active premium hearing protector for shooters, hunters, and instructors who want not just protection but a well-thought-out tool for the range, field, and long training days. It combines the proven Pro-X platform with an integrated LED light, standard gel cushions, and the Sordin HEAR2™ sound system with four audio profiles.

The difference to a normal active hearing protector is not just in the specs but in the use. You’re at the vehicle, sorting gear in low light, searching for cartridges, checking magazines, quickly inspecting your bag, or working at the elevated stand. That’s exactly when a small integrated LED isn’t a toy but a real comfort and safety gain.

Added to that are the standard gel cushions. Anyone who has spent several hours with earmuff hearing protection, shooting glasses, or safety glasses at the range knows: sealing and comfort decide whether hearing protection is really used or just worn briefly until it becomes annoying. Gel cushions are not only comfortable in such situations. They often also help seal better around glasses’ temples.

The Sordin Supreme Pro-X LED is therefore especially strong for hunters, sport shooters, instructors, range officers, and frequent shooters who value active awareness, long wear time, rugged outdoor logic, and quick orientation in low light.

Black-Raptor short summary:
The Sordin Supreme Pro-X LED is the comfort and field variant of the Pro-X: active hearing protection, strong awareness, gel cushions as standard, and a small LED that helps exactly when you need a quick light but don’t want to search for a lamp.
Buy if: You want a high-quality active hearing protector for hunting, shooting range, training, fieldwork, and long use – with gel cushions, HEAR2™ audio, AUX input, and integrated LED.
Don’t buy if: You will definitely never use the LED and consciously want a simpler or cheaper Pro-X variant without light.

Our assessment

The Sordin Supreme Pro-X LED is not just “the Pro-X with a lamp.” It is the variant for users who
wear your hearing protection not only when shooting but also use it over longer periods as part of your work and equipment system.

The LED is not a replacement for a headlamp or strong flashlight. It’s not meant to be. Its strength lies in short moments: opening your bag, checking cartridges, inspecting magazines, sorting gear at the car, preparing your seat at the hunting stand, finding something in the dark shooting area. These small situations happen constantly – and that’s exactly where the LED is practical.

The second big point is the gel cushions. Many users underestimate how much ear pads affect protection. Hearing protection with poor sealing protects less, no matter how good the electronics are. Glasses arms, hair, hats, or uneven fit can create small gaps. Gel cushions adapt better and are noticeably more comfortable for longer use.

The HEAR2™ system with four audio profiles makes the Pro-X LED versatile. At the range, you want clear commands and secure communication. In the field, you want to perceive your surroundings, movement, and speech. In training, you want to hear what’s happening around you without taking off your hearing protection. Active hearing protection is made exactly for such situations.

From our perspective, the Pro-X LED is especially useful for hunters, instructors, range officers, glasses wearers, and frequent shooters. If you only train at a bright indoor range with clear routines, you might not necessarily need the LED. If you work outdoors, are out in the field, or regularly spend long days with hearing protection, you’ll quickly appreciate the combination of light, gel cushions, and active perception.

Practical tip: Don’t think of the LED as your main lamp
Use the integrated LED as a short work and orientation aid, not as a searchlight.
For longer walks, tracking, fieldwork, or illuminating larger areas, a proper lamp still belongs in your setup.
The advantage of the LED on hearing protection is that it’s immediately there when you briefly need both hands free.

Why the LED brings more in practice than you think

Many accessory functions look nice on paper but disappear in everyday use. The LED on the Pro-X LED is different when you work outdoors. It sits where you don’t have to look for it: directly on the hearing protection.

At the vehicle: open your bag, check ammo, sort gear without searching for an extra lamp.

In the field: quick hand movements at dusk, at the hunting stand, or when preparing gear.

At the range: find magazines, cartridges, tools, or shooting patches faster in darker areas.

In courses: quick material checks without taking off hearing protection or fetching a lamp.

On long days: small tasks stay easier when it gets late or light is missing.

Clear buying decision:
Buy Pro-X LED if: you want gel cushions from the factory, active perception, and an immediately available small work light in one hearing protection.
Choose regular Pro-X if: you don’t need the LED and focus purely on active hearing protection without lighting.
Use double hearing protection if: you work indoors with very loud calibers, muzzle brakes, or long training days and want extra protection reserve.

Gel cushions, glasses, and sealing

With hearing protection, it’s not just the attenuation value on paper that matters. What counts is whether the hearing protection really seals well on your head. Shooting glasses, safety glasses, or thin arms can lift the ear pads and create small sound leaks.

The standard gel cushions are therefore a strong argument for the Pro-X LED. They adapt softer, distribute pressure more comfortably, and can work better with glasses arms than many standard pads.

More comfort: especially on long range days, courses, or field use.

Better fit: gel cushions often sit cleaner around glasses arms
el and earcup shape.

Fewer pressure points: important when the hearing protection is worn for several hours.

Practical sealing: a clean fit is crucial for actual protective effect.

Instructor note: Check the seal after putting on
Feel all around both earcups: Does the cushion sit cleanly? Does a glasses temple lift the seal? Is the earcup evenly seated?
If a gap forms anywhere, the attenuation can drop significantly. This applies to every earcup hearing protector – even high-quality models.

HEAR2™ and active perception

The big advantage of active hearing protectors is that you’re not cut off from your surroundings. This is especially important when shooting. You want to hear commands, communicate with others, perceive movements, and still be protected from loud impulses.

The Sordin HEAR2™ system with four audio profiles allows adjustment to different situations. On the range, speech intelligibility counts. In the field, environment, direction, and natural perception are important. In training situations, you need both: protection and communication.

Shooting range: commands and conversations remain more understandable.

Hunting: environment and movements remain more perceptible.

Training: communication continues without constantly removing the hearing protection.

Range officer: better perception of the surroundings while still protected.

Active or passive hearing protection?

Passive hearing protection can attenuate very well but also takes away many important cues. Speech, commands, and ambient sounds fade faster. This may be acceptable on a simple range, but in training, hunting, or group settings it’s often a disadvantage.

Active hearing protection like the Sordin Supreme Pro-X LED gives you more control. Loud impulses are reduced while relevant sounds remain audible. This is not a luxury but a real safety and comfort gain in many situations.

Passive: simple, robust, but less communication.

Active: better perception, better communication, better for training and hunting.

Active with LED: additional practical help in twilight, darkness, and quick tasks.

Who is the Sordin Supreme Pro-X LED especially suitable for?

Hunters: strong for fieldwork, twilight, elevated stands, shooting cinemas, and control shots.

Sport shooters: useful for long range days, courses, and training with communication.

Instructors: practical when hearing protection, communication, and brief lighting use come together.

Range officers: active perception and good visibility during operations can be helpful.

Glasses wearers: gel cushions from the factory offer a clear comfort and sealing advantage.

Frequent shooters: long wear time becomes more comfortable with gel cushions and good handling.

Scope of delivery

1 × Sordin Supreme Pro-X LED in chosen color
Gel cushions pre-installed
Batteries, AUX accessories and documents depending on manufacturer scope of the chosen version

Important note on protection effect:
Hearing protection only works with correct fit. Hair, hats, glasses temples, beard, helmet straps or poorly fitting pads can significantly reduce attenuation performance.
At indoor ranges, with powerful calibers, muzzle brakes or long training days, additional in-ear hearing protection under the earmuff hearing protection can be useful.

FAQ

Is the LED on the Sordin Supreme Pro-X LED really useful?
Yes, if you want to do quick tasks in the territory, at the vehicle, in low light or darker shooting areas. It does not replace a strong lamp but is very practical as an immediately available orientation aid.

Are gel cushions included with the Pro-X LED?
Yes. According to Sordin, the LED version comes standard with gel cushions. This is especially interesting for glasses wearers and long wearing times.

Does the LED replace a headlamp?
No. The LED is a short work and orientation aid. For longer distances, tracking or illuminating larger areas, a proper lamp still belongs in the setup.

What does the HEAR2™ system provide?
The HEAR2™ system offers four audio profiles and supports a useful perception of speech, commands and environment depending on the application area.

Is the Sordin Supreme Pro-X LED suitable for glasses wearers?
Yes, especially because of the gel cushions. Still, the fit on the glasses temple must be checked to ensure the cups seal properly.

When is additional in-ear hearing protection useful?
At very loud indoor ranges, with powerful calibers, muzzle brakes or long training days, additional in-ear protection under the earmuff hearing protection can be useful.

When is the regular Pro-X sufficient instead of the LED version?
If you definitely won’t use the LED and want to stay consciously cheaper, the regular Pro-X can be the more logical choice.

Who is the Pro-X LED especially strong for?
For hunters, instructors, range officers, glasses wearers and frequent shooters who use active perception, gel cushions, robust outdoor logic and a small integrated work light effectively.
