Sordin Supreme Pro-X – active hearing protection with AUX for hunting and shooting range

At the range, you want to hear commands – but not feel every shot in your bones. The Sordin Supreme Pro-X is the classic among active hearing protectors for hunters and sport shooters.

It dampens impulse noise, amplifies ambient sounds, and remains suitable for long guns thanks to its low-profile ear cup design. That’s exactly why the Pro-X is the safe choice for many users when it’s about proven performance, not experimentation.

Why this exact model?
✔ Proven active hearing protection for hunting and shooting sports
✔ Sordin HEAR2™ with four audio profiles
✔ SNR up to 28 dB depending on version according to Sordin
✔ IP67 tested microphones and battery compartment according to manufacturer
✔ AUX input for external audio sources
✔ Electronic playback limited to max. 82 dB
✔ Automatic shutdown after 4 hours
✔ Versions with foam or gel cushions

Why this product?

The Pro-X is the all-rounder: strong enough for regular training, practical for hunting, and slim enough for shooting with a long gun.

You hear commands and surroundings without taking off the ear cups
You get a very proven active hearing protector instead of gimmicks
You can choose between foam and gel cushion versions
You use AUX when external audio sources need to be connected
You get a good compromise of protection, sound, and shooting comfort

Active hearing protection vs. passive hearing protection
❌ Passive: dampens, but conversations, commands, and surroundings often get lost ✔ Active: reduces gunshot noise and lets speech and important ambient sounds pass through in a controlled way This is a real safety advantage especially at the range, during training, and in hunting.

Trainer tip: Set volume consciously
Don’t turn the active sound up to max just because you can.
Set it so that speech and surroundings sound natural. Too much amplification tires you faster and distracts unnecessarily.

Our assessment

The Supreme Pro-X is the sensible pro choice for civilian users: hunting, range, courses, and regular training. Not overloaded, but exactly strong where hearing protection has to work in everyday life.

The most important buying decision here is not the color, but the cushion. Gel cushions are worth it for glasses wearers and long days. Foam cushions are cheaper and sufficient if you wear it briefly or don’t use glasses.

For pure helmet/radio setups, there are more suitable MIL or T2 solutions. For hunting and shooting sports, the Pro-X is one of the cleanest all-rounders.

Who it’s suitable for

Sport shooters: training, courses, dynamic ranges

Hunters: stand hunting, shooting cinema, driven hunt preparation

Trainers: commands
s geben und Umgebung hören

Brillenträger: besonders in Gelkissen-Varianten

Praxisfolge: weniger Schallleck, weniger Druckstellen, längere Tragezeit.

Was bringen die Audio-Profile?

better choice.

Especially with Sordin hearing protection, active hearing protection for the shooting range and hearing protection for hunting, it’s not just the attenuation value that matters, but whether the seal, sound, and wearing comfort fit your use.
