ERATAC GEN-2 · adjustable cant
The target is far, the elevation turret approaches its stop – and right now the mount decides if there is still a clean adjustment range available.
The ERATAC quick-detach mount with safety levers can be adjusted on the firearm from 0 to 70 MOA in 10-MOA increments. Six variants cover 30, 34, and 36 mm main tube diameters as well as different heights.

Our honest assessment
This is not a generic “70-MOA mount,” but a specialized long-range system with adjustable cant from 0 to 70 MOA. The big advantage: mount and scope can stay on the firearm while adjusting. This helps when a setup is used for significantly different distance ranges and the internal elevation reserve of the scope is not sufficient.
The price, weight from 371 to 430 g, and additional mechanics are only worth it if you really need this adjustment option. For a permanently fixed hunting or range configuration, a fixed mount with matching cant is usually simpler and lighter.

Fits well if … you are building a robust Picatinny setup for long distances, want to use different cants, and consciously look for a repeatable, quick-detach lever system.

Important before purchase The article number determines barrel diameter and build height. The build height BH is measured from the surface of the Picatinny rail to the lower edge of the middle tube. Also check objective clearance, eye relief, stock fit, and whether your scope can still be sufficiently adjusted downwards at the planned zeroing distance despite the forward tilt.

What the design practically achieves


0–70 MOA instead of fixed tilt After loosening the two clamping screws, the forward tilt is selected via the adjustment wheel in 10-MOA steps. This expands the usable distance logic but does not replace ballistic data or a correct zero.


Positive-locking connection A screw guided diagonally through the adjustment wheel and the massive tapered connection of the hinge are intended to connect upper and lower parts without play. Self-locking threaded inserts secure the two screw connections.


Adjustable safety levers The clamping force is adapted to the specific rail; the lever position is selectable. This is practical for transport or optic changes but requires careful initial setup and function check.


GEN-2 with reduced weight ERATAC states for the GEN-2 a lighter lever/nut system and up to 7% weight savings. Nevertheless, this adjustable mount remains significantly heavier than many fixed block mounts.

Instructor and user notes

Plan forward tilt only with adjustment reserve More forward tilt shifts the usable elevation range; it does not create additional optical quality. Check total adjustment range, mechanical center, and planned zero distance in advance. Setting directly to 70 MOA without checking the lower adjustment range can make a close zero impossible.

The original manual requires a base mounted on the Picatinny rail and a scope already mounted for the adjustment. Both T30 clamping screws are loosened about one to two turns, then the adjustment wheel is set with full surface contact and both screws are tightened again. ERATAC specifies a maximum of 12 Nm for this.
For bolt-action rifles, the mount should be engaged forward on the rail in the shooting direction; for semi-automatics, due to recoil behavior, it should be engaged backward. After removal, reattachment, or adjustment, always check clamping, confirm point of impact, and document the result.

Quick-release lever or nut system?
The T4 variants offered here have safety levers. This is the right choice if tool-free operation and repeated removal are important. The corresponding T5 variants with hex nuts are about 25 to 26 g lighter depending on size and often the more sober solution for a permanently mounted optic. A fixed ERATAC block mount is additionally sensible if you never need to change the forward tilt after zeroing.

Sicherheit, Montage und Pflege
Vor Montagearbeiten muss die Waffe vollständig entladen sein. ERATAC empfiehlt die Montage durch einen qualifizierten gunsmith. Eine fehlerhaft eingestellte oder montierte Optic mount kann Wiederholgenauigkeit und sichere Verbindung beeinträchtigen.
Die Justierschraube der Hebel niemals vollständig herausdrehen. Klemmkraft durch mehrmaliges Öffnen und Schließen prüfen. Abhängig von Staub, Sand und Feuchtigkeit sollen Gleitflächen und Sicherungshaken gereinigt und mit geeignetem Schmiermittel gepflegt werden.

Ist die Montage fest auf 70 MOA eingestellt? Nein. Die hier angebotene MOA-Ausführung ist von 0 bis 70 MOA in 10-MOA-Stufen einstellbar.
Kann ich die Vorneigung mit montiertem Zielfernrohr ändern? Ja. Genau dafür ist das System ausgelegt. Die Montage muss auf der Picatinny rail sitzen, das Zielfernrohr montiert sein und die beiden T30-Klemmschrauben werden gemäß Originalanleitung gelöst und anschließend wieder korrekt angezogen.
Welche Variante passt zu meinem Zielfernrohr? Der Mittelrohrdurchmesser muss exakt 30, 34 oder 36 mm entsprechen. Danach wird die Bauhöhe anhand von Objektivfreiheit, Schaftanlage, Augenabstand und Zubehör gewählt.
Ist das System sinnvoll für ein normales 100-m-Setup? Meist nur dann, wenn du zusätzlich deutlich größere Entfernungen abdecken willst. Für ein dauerhaftes 100-m-Setup ist eine feste, leichtere Montage häufig zweckmäßiger.
Bleibt das Zero nach Abnehmen und Wiederaufsetzen garantiert unverändert? ERATAC garantiert Wiederholgenauigkeit und Schussfestigkeit. In der Praxis muss die Treffpunktlage nach jedem Eingriff dennoch mit Kontrollschüssen bestätigt werden.
