Forester LPVO · SFP · 1–8x24
Vector Optics SCOC-38 Forester 1–8x24 SFP A 30-mm LPVO for switching between quick overview at 1x and more precise work up to 8x. The reticle is in the second focal plane, the illuminated centre offers eleven brightness levels.
Black-Raptor-Classification: Interesting if you want to cover short to medium distances with an optic and consciously accept SFP. It’s not a red dot: eye position and eye box remain relevant even at 1x.

Fits well / fits less well

Fits well if … … you want to work quickly at 1x and zoom up to 8x for smaller or more distant targets.

Fits less well if … … you expect a true red dot feel without fixed eye position or want to use holdover marks proportionally at every magnification.

Features with practical benefits

1–8x24 1x maximises overview and speed, 8x offers significantly more precision reserve at medium distance. The higher the level, the more critical a clean head position becomes.

SFP reticle The reticle remains visually the same size. Any holdover marks are therefore only true to scale at the defined magnification.

1/2 MOA One click corresponds to about 1.45 cm at 100 m. Practical for an LPVO, but coarser than 1/4-MOA or 0.1-MIL turrets.

Illumination Eleven red levels help with changing backgrounds. Choose brightness as low as necessary so the dot doesn’t overexpose.

Limits & avoiding bad purchases

1x is not automatically equal to a red dot. An LPVO requires reproducible eye position and suitable eye relief of about 105–120 mm.
Parallax is fixed at 50 yd. For precise shots
clearly outside this distance, especially clean eye alignment is important.

Technical data with practical interpretation

Optics 1–8x24 · SFP · 30-mm tube · illuminated reticle.

Adjustment 1/2 MOA per click · up to 60 MOA adjustment range according to product data.

View Field of view 35–4.9 m/100 m · eye relief 105–120 mm. At 1x very wide, at 8x noticeably narrower.

Design 272 mm length · 30-mm tube. Suitable mounting height strongly influences cheek weld and speed.

Scope of delivery
Forester SCOC-38 · mounting rings for 21-mm Picatinny/Weaver · protective caps · cleaning cloth.
Safe use
Position the mount so that the full eye relief is reached in the natural shooting position. Tighten rings according to specifications and check point of impact after any mounting changes. Unload the firearm beforehand.
FAQ
Is 1x like a red dot? No. The overview can be very fast, but a scope remains more tied to eye position and eye box. What does SFP mean? The reticle remains optically the same size when zooming; therefore, the holdover marks are only accurate at the defined magnification level. How fine is 1/2 MOA? About 1.45 cm per click at 100 m. Which mount fits? 30-mm rings; 21-mm rings are included according to Shopify scope of delivery. Height and position must fit the cheek weld.
Black Raptor · Purchase decision
The Forester 1–8x24 is a classic SFP LPVO. Good range from fast to precise – as long as you consciously plan SFP logic, fixed parallax, and typical LPVO eye position.
