Our Assessment
The SCOL-48 is neither a close-range optic nor a 56-mm twilight specialist. Its strength lies in the short design, a practical 4–16× range, and a consistent MIL system of reticle and 0.1-MIL adjustment.



Fits well if … … you want a compact 4–16× scope for medium distances, want to work with MIL, and plan a 30-mm mounting system.


Less suitable if … … you need true 1× speed, an FFP reticle across the entire zoom range, or maximum 56-mm light gathering.



Features with Practical Impact


4–16× 4× still offers overview for many range and hunting situations; 16× provides detail reserve for small targets and more precise work.


MPR-V10 MIL The reticle is explicitly MIL-based. Holdover marks and 0.1-MIL click adjustment match the same unit system.


Side focus from 10 yd Especially at shorter distances and higher magnification, parallax can be adjusted to the target distance.


SFP instead of FFP The reticle remains optically the same size. Subtensions are therefore not automatically usable at every magnification; follow the manufacturer’s reference for holdover marks.




Limits, Drawbacks & Avoiding Bad Purchases
4× at the low end remains 4×. For very short distances, it’s no substitute for an LPVO or red dot. The 44-mm objective keeps the design compact but offers less light gathering than a 50/56-mm concept. Before ordering, also check 30-mm ring diameter, height, rail, and eye relief together.

Is the SCOL-48 FFP? No. The reticle is in the second focal plane (SFP). Is the MPR-V10 reticle MIL or MOA? MIL. The manufacturer describes the MPR-V10 with MIL subtensions; the click adjustment is also 0.1 MIL. What is the adjustment range? 22 MIL elevation and 17.5 MIL windage. Are rings included? Yes. The manufacturer lists a pair of 30-mm Weaver rings in the scope of delivery.
