Vector Optics · 1×22 Solar Red Dot
Maverick-II Plus 1×22 SOL – compact 2-MOA dot with QD Picatinny mount
The SCRD-PS12 combines a fine 2-MOA red dot with a side-accessible CR2032, motion activation, and solar backup. The key buying point is not "more tech," but whether the fixed Picatinny/Lower-1/3 configuration fits your platform and desired sight height.

Who is the SCRD-PS12 for?

Fits well For sporty or hunting platforms with Picatinny rail, if you want a closed 1× red dot sight with 2-MOA dot, QD mount, and side battery compartment. The 41 mm mid-height is designed for Lower-1/3 co-witness.

Fits less well If you want a very low mount, an open mini-dot footprint for an optics-ready interface, or an ultra-light sight. At 214 g, the Maverick-II Plus is deliberately not a micro-dot.

What does the equipment bring in practice?

2 MOA instead of coarse dot The manufacturer lists the SCRD-PS12 with a 2-MOA dot. This offers a finer aiming coverage than larger dot sizes.

Solar as backup The solar panel serves as an additional power source in strong ambient light. It does not replace sensible checking of the CR2032.

Side battery compartment The CR2032 can be changed from the side. This means the sight does not have to be removed from the mount to change the battery.

QD Picatinny & 41 mm mid-height The quick-release mount is designed for Picatinny. The 41 mm height from base to dot center corresponds to a Lower-1/3 configuration; check sight line and existing backup sights before purchase.

Limits, disadvantages & avoiding bad purchases

No pistol footprint: This model is a mounted tube red dot for Picatinny, not a directly screwed mini-dot.

Weight: 214 g is significantly more than open micro-dots.

Water protection: The manufacturer states IPX4 – protection against splashing water, not the same immersion resistance as IP67.

Do not confuse solar with continuous operation guarantee: The
Panel is backup; battery status and function should be checked before use.

Technical Data – with Classification

Scope of Delivery

Assigned for this version: SCRD-PS12 with QD Picatinny mount. The manufacturer does not fully list additional accessories individually on its current product page; therefore, we do not add unconfirmed parts.
FAQ
Is the dot 2 or 3 MOA? For the specific manufacturer ID SCRD-PS12, Vector Optics states 2 MOA. The click value is separately 1 MOA. Does it fit directly on an optics-ready pistol? No. The model is designed for Picatinny mounting and does not have a typical open mini-dot footprint. Can the battery be changed without removing the sight? Yes. The CR2032 is located sideways, so the optic does not need to be disassembled for battery replacement. Does solar replace the battery? No. Vector Optics describes solar as a backup power source in strong sunlight. A functional CR2032 remains part of the system.
BLACK RAPTOR Classification: The SCRD-PS12 makes sense especially when Picatinny, QD, and a Lower-1/3 sight height are already fixed. The 2-MOA dot and the side battery compartment are practical advantages; those seeking maximum weight savings or direct pistol mounting should choose a different design.
