VictOptics BOSL01 · 8×42
At the forest edge, it’s not the highest number that counts – but a steady image where you quickly find movement again.
With eightfold magnification, 42-mm objectives, and 110 m field of view at 1,000 m, the BOSL01 is a down-to-earth all-round optic for the territory, nature, and tour. It offers great orientation for the budget but remains honest optically and in weight in the entry-level class.
Check use and limits

Our honest assessment

The BOSL01 is the sensible choice if you’re looking for an affordable 8×42 with a wide field of view and accept 745 g. Eightfold magnification is usually steadier to hold freehand than tenfold. The 5.2-mm exit pupil makes eye relief easier and helps in fading daylight.
BAK7 roof prisms and multi-coating are functional but no substitute for high-quality BAK4, phase correction, or ED glass. In difficult twilight, with harsh contrasts, and at the image edge, a significantly more expensive Premiu

du bei Reviergang, Vogel- oder Naturbeobachtung ein vielseitiges, freihandtaugliches 8×42 suchst;
dir ein weites Sehfeld wichtiger ist als maximale Detailvergrößerung;
du eine zentrale Fokussierung und einen großen Dioptrienbereich von −5 bis +5 möchtest;

du lange Bergtouren planst und jedes Gramm zählt – 745 g sind spürbar;
du maximale Dämmerungsleistung, höchste Randschärfe oder besonders neutrale Farbwiedergabe erwartest;
du eine dokumentierte IP-Schutzklasse für Starkregen oder Untertauchen brauchst;

Was die Merkmale draußen wirklich bedeuten

VictOptics BOSL02 ansehen .

Scope of delivery

According to current VictOptics product page: BOSL01 binoculars, carrying strap, manual, cleaning cloth, pouch and sales packaging.

Care and realistic limits

“Waterproof” is not a license to submerge. VictOptics does not specify a concrete IP class for BOSL01. Therefore, dry off rain and splashes promptly, let the binoculars dry completely outside the closed pouch after getting wet, and do not store them permanently damp.
Loose dust should first be removed with a blower or soft brush. Only then wipe with a clean optical cloth from the center outward. Do not rub dry over sand grains and do not use aggressive household cleaners.

FAQ about the VictOptics BOSL01
Is the BOSL01 a good twilight binocular? The 8×42 format and 5.2 mm exit pupil make sense for fading daylight. BAK7 prisms and budget coating, however, set clear limits at deep twilight; a high-quality BAK4/ED glass can visibly deliver more contrast and light transmission.
Is the binocular really waterproof? VictOptics labels BOSL01 as waterproof but does not publish an IP protection class or permissible diving depth for this model. We therefore treat it as weatherproof for normal outdoor use, not proven submersible.
Can I recognize hits on the shooting range with it? For general observation and larger target markings, yes. Small bullet holes at medium or long distance depend heavily on distance, caliber, target contrast, light, and air turbulence. For that, a spotting scope with higher magnification is usually the better choice.
Why 8×42 instead of 10×42? 8× is usually steadier freehand and the BOSL01 offers a 5.2 mm exit pupil. 10× shows more detail but amplifies movements and requires more precise aiming. For moving observation and long use, we often recommend 8×.
Is a smartphone mount included? No. VictOptics lists strap, manual, cleaning cloth, pouch, and sales packaging; a smartphone or tripod mount is not part of the confirmed scope of delivery.
