The VictOptics SRD 1×20 GRA is a closed red dot for Picatinny rails. Its 3-MOA dot, seven daylight settings plus an NV mode, and free eye position aim for fast, both-eyes-open target acquisition – not for magnification or fine distance observation.

Our honest assessment

The RDSL27 is a price-oriented, closed tube optic with an unusually complete mounting set. High QD and flat Picatinny base are included. This allows the sight line to be adapted to different platforms without needing a proprietary pistol footprint.
The limit is just as important: VictOptics calls the model shockproof but does not publish any G-testing or caliber approval on the exact product page. Dealer information on firearm suitability contradicts itself. Therefore, we do not promise suitability for .223 or .308 until clear proof is available.

Was die Bauart praktisch verändert
Der geschlossene Tubus schützt die Sichtlinie besser vor seitlich eindringendem Schmutz als ein offenes Mini-Reflexvisier, kostet aber Gewicht und Fensterfreiheit. Mit 190 g ist das SRD kein ultraleichtes Dot. Auf einer langen Picatinny-Plattform fällt das weniger auf als auf einem kompakten Aufbau.
Der 3-MOA-Punkt deckt rechnerisch auf 100 m ungefähr 8,7 cm ab. Das macht ihn gut sichtbar, begrenzt aber die feine Zielauflösung. Die Helligkeit sollte nur so hoch stehen, dass der Punkt sauber erkennbar bleibt; zu viel Licht lässt ihn optisch ausfransen und erschwert präzises Halten.

Montage- und Trainingstipps

Die hohe QD-Basis hebt die optische Achse laut Hersteller auf 38 mm über der Unterseite. Die flache Basis ist für niedrigere Visierlinien gedacht. Wähle zuerst die passende Höhe, stelle dann die QD-Spannung spielfrei ein und kontrolliere den Sitz auf derselben Picatinny-Nut.
Nullpunktkorrekturen erfolgen mit geschützten, hörbaren 1-MOA-Klicks. Nach Montage oder Wechsel der Basis muss neu kontrolliert werden. Trainiere den reproduzierbaren Anschlag mit beiden Augen offen; wenn der Punkt regelmäßig gesucht werden muss, sind Montagehöhe, Wangenauflage oder Anschlag noch nicht sauber abgestimmt.

Technisch nahezu gleich aufgebaut, aber mit schwarzer matter Oberfläche. Sinnvoll, wenn die Farbe besser zum Setup passt.

Eine CR2032 wird in den belastbaren Lieferumfangsangaben nicht eindeutig als enthalten ausgewiesen und sollte vorsorglich separat bereitliegen.

Sicher montieren und pflegen


Vor dem Nullstellen Schiene entfetten, Anlageflächen prüfen, Basis vollständig in die Nut setzen und QD-Hebel ohne Spiel einstellen. Erst danach einschießen.


Nach jedem Umbau Treffpunktlage kontrollieren. Eine QD-Montage ist praktisch, garantiert aber ohne
documented inspection no identical recurrence.


Blow off lens dust first or brush gently. Then wipe with a clean microfiber cloth from the center outward; do not rub dry sand particles.


Remove battery CR2032 during longer storage, keep contacts dry and check brightness and zero before use.

FAQ
Is the RDSL27 an open reflex sight? No. VictOptics classifies it as a closed tube red dot. The existing shop metafield "Open Reflex" has therefore been corrected.
Does it fit directly on a pistol? No. The scope of delivery includes Picatinny bases, no RMR-, RMSc- or other direct pistol footprint. A suitable, robust adapter system would be required separately.
Is it approved for .223 or .308? No such caliber approval is published on the exact manufacturer page. As long as there is no reliable proof, we do not treat existing .223/.308 assignments as confirmed.
What does the NV brightness level mean? It provides a very low dot brightness for compatible night vision technology. The red dot itself does not produce a night vision image.
Which mount should I choose? The high QD base fits a raised sight line; the flat base for lower setups. The platform, cheek rest and a reproducible head position are decisive.
