The main sight stays on top – light or additional optics should be reachable on the side.
The SCRA-51 provides two Picatinny rails at a 45° angle for this. This is practical if your setup really needs both sides. But it also means 92 g extra weight and 63.5 mm total width.

The strength is also the limit: you get an offset rail on the left and right, even though many setups only use one side. For two clearly planned accessory positions, this is neat and more compact than two separate adapters. For just one red dot or a light, a one-sided offset mount is lighter and less bulky.
Vector Optics calls the SCRA-51 “Heavy Duty” and designed for Picatinny. The manufacturer does not publish a specific torque value or caliber-specific load limit.

Fits well if …

your base has an easily accessible Picatinny rail;
you really want to use two side positions;
your accessories each have their own Picatinny clamp;
92 g and the additional width in the overall setup are acceptable.



Fits less if …

you only want to offset a single accessory;
you want to mount directly on M-LOK, KeyMod, or 11 mm dovetail rail;
a red dot without a separate Picatinny mount is to be used;
a particularly slim, lightweight, or holster-friendly setup is a priority.

What the construction practically changes


Two 45° positions Accessories move out of the upper sight line. Separate Picatinny attachments can be positioned on the left and right. The second side remains structurally present, even if it stays empty.


65 mm length Before purchase, there must be enough continuous space on the base rail. Equally important: clamping lever, turret caps, loading access, and controls must not collide.


92 g / 63.5 mm width That sounds moderate individually, but together with a flashlight, laser, or additional optics it affects balance, transport, and snag points. The complete setup counts, not just the adapter.


6063-T6 aluminum The material keeps the base stiff at a manageable weight. Crucial for repeatability remain clean contact surfaces, correct screw tension, and a check after the first load cycles.

Assembly and user instructions

The model-specific dealer instructions are brief: loosen both upper screws, slide the mount onto the Picatinny rail, and tighten the screws again. Vector Optics does not specify a torque value.

Assemble the setup initially unloaded and fully mounted: check field of view, grip, safety, loading access, ejection area, and transport cover.
Tighten screws evenly. Do not force a higher torque “by feel”; if no manufacturer specification is given, have it professionally mounted.
For an offset additional optic, zero it separately afterward and check the point of impact after first use.
The only verifiable product review found confirms the general quality but does not provide reliable long-term or recoil testing. Therefore, we do not make any practical testing claims.

SCRA-51 or lighter one-sided solution?


SCRA-51: two sides 65 mm long, 92 g, two 45° Picatinny surfaces. Useful if two positions are needed or left/right should remain available without conversion.


SCRA-57: one side According to the manufacturer, the SCRA-57 is 35 mm long and weighs 30 g. For a single accessory, it is usually the slimmer choice.

Safety and care
Perform assembly work only on a fully unloaded system and without ammunition in the work area. After assembly, operation, safety, ejection, and sight line must remain free. Keep clamping surfaces clean and grease-free; regularly check screws and after shocks. If uncertain about position, screw locking, or torque, professional assembly is the better solution.

FAQ
Does the SCRA-51 fit directly on M-LOK? No. The mount is designed for an existing Picatinny rail. For M-LOK, a suitable Picatinny interface is first required.
Can a red dot be mounted directly? Only if the red dot already has a suitable Picatinny clamp. The SCRA-51 is not an adapter for a specific red dot footprint.
Do I have to equip both sides? No. One side can remain empty; however, the weight and width of the second rail remain.
Is the mount approved for live firearms? The manufacturer describes it as a heavy-duty version, and dealers list it for live systems. Vector Optics does not publish a specific caliber list or torque for the SCRA-51. Mounting un
