The Vector Optics SCFRM-18 combines a confirmed CZ-Optics-Ready interface with a closed red dot in the VOD footprint. The 3.5 mm high steel plate keeps the setup compact; but the exact OR generation of your pistol remains crucial.

Our honest assessment
The SCFRM-18 is not a universal adapter but a clearly defined bridge between CZ Optics Ready and Vector Optics VOD. For the CZ Shadow 2 Optics Ready, this combination is explicitly mentioned both on the current product page and in the official footprint guide. For CZ-P-10 variants, the manufacturer’s description is broader and linguistically ambiguous. Therefore, always verify exact model and OR generation before purchase.

Important about the term VOD
Vector Optics lists VOD as an ACRO-compatible mounting pattern. This does not mean that any CZ plate, red dot, or pistol automatically fits together. Both firearm and optic sides must match exactly.

Fits well if …
you want to combine a CZ Shadow 2 Optics Ready with a closed Vector Optics red dot in the VOD footprint; you prefer a low steel adapter; you check model, interface, and screws before mounting.
Rather not suitable if …
your CZ is not Optics Ready; your optic uses RMR/MOJ, RMSc/MGT, Docter/TEK or another footprint; you are looking for a Picatinny, Weaver, or 11 mm mount; you derive P-10 compatibility only from the family name.

What the design means in practice


Low profile The manufacturer height of 3.5 mm keeps the sight closer to the bolt. This supports a compact sight line but does not replace a proper zero or correct grip and presentation technique.


#45 steel Steel is dimensionally stable and robust, but with 44 g adds more mass to the bolt than a lightweight aluminum plate. This is not a flaw but should be consciously chosen for a dynamic setup.


VOD clamping principle The official footprint guide describes VOD without classic screw points from above: The closed sight is held by the central contour or clamping connection. That is exactly why VOD must not be confused with RMR or RMSc.


No universal fit A similar-looking recess is not enough. Recoil surfaces, plate contour, screw length, and optic footprint must match to prevent the connection from shifting or damaging components.

Instructor and user tips

Before mounting Remove magazine, check chamber, and handle the firearm in a safe direction.
Check adapter and contact surfaces free of grease, clean, and burr-free; a plate must not be “pulled to fit” by screw pressure.
Do not adopt general torque values: specifications from the CZ model, the optic, and possibly the thread locker take precedence.
Screws must not block internal components. Perform a full function check after mounting and then re-zero.
After the first shooting series, check fit, markings, and point of impact. A loose optic is a safety and precision issue.

Useful distinction
The SCFRM-18 is the direct CZ-OR-to-VOD solution. For a VOD red dot on a MOS interface, the SCFRM-12 is intended instead; for Weaver/Picatinny there are separate VOD mounts. Those without a suitable optic yet will find the Vector Optics SCRD-63 and SCRD-SM63 at Black Raptor. Both product targets have been tested in the shop – the exact combination must still be checked before mounting.

FAQ
Does the adapter fit every CZ Shadow 2? No. Confirmed is the CZ Shadow 2 Optics Ready. A standard version without a suitable OR interface does not become Optics Ready retroactively with this plate.
Does the SCFRM-18 fit every CZ P-10? This cannot be said generally. The current manufacturer page lists P-10 Optics Ready versions, while the official footprint guide explicitly assigns SCFRM-18 to the Shadow 2. Exact P-10 variant and OR generation must be checked before purchase.
Can I mount an RMR or RMSc red dot? No, not over its original footprint. SCFRM-18 ends optic-side in VOD. RMR/MOJ, RMSc/MGT, and other patterns each require the appropriate plate.
Is VOD the same as ACRO? Vector Optics lists VOD as...
s ACRO-compatible. Due to possible model and generation differences, the specific optic approval remains decisive.
What torque is correct? For SCFRM-18, the manufacturer does not publish a universal torque value on the product page. Use the specifications of the specific CZ version and the red dot manufacturer; an invented standard value would be unreliable here.
Does it need to be re-zeroed after mounting? Yes. Any change to the optic or mount requires a function check, zeroing, and a subsequent check of the secure fit.
