Vector Optics SCRDM-08 Glock Mount for Red Dot Sights with MOJ (RMR) Footprint – practically classified

When speed is more important than maximum magnification, a red dot is the right solution. Vector Optics SCRDM-08 Glock Mount for Red Dot Sights with MOJ (RMR) Footprint is designed for quick target acquisition, both eyes open, and short to medium distances – ideal for training, range, and hunting applications with fast presentation.
Vector Optics does not deliver a law enforcement duty solution here, but a very usable civilian budget to mid-range optic with strong practical value.

Why this product?
✔ Quick target acquisition with 1x reticle ✔ Ideal for short to medium distances ✔ Footprint and mounting height must fit your setup ✔ Great for training, range, driven hunt-like scenarios, and dynamic drills

Key features

Quick target acquisition with 1x reticle
Ideal for short to medium distances
Footprint and mounting height must fit your setup
Great for training, range, driven hunt-like scenarios, and dynamic drills
Better for speed than for finest distance precision
Good price-performance ratio for civilian use

Our assessment
Our assessment: A red dot is strong when you don’t have to search long through the glass. Dot on target, control your hold, clean trigger press. That’s exactly what this class is made for. But important: The sight is only as good as its mount. Footprint, height, and firearm must match.

Instructor tip: Don’t “search” for the red dot. Train your hold so the dot automatically appears in the window. If you have to search for the dot, usually head position, mounting height, or hold routine is off.

Who it’s for
Suitable for: Suitable for sport shooters, hunters, and dynamic training users who prioritise speed and simple target acquisition.
Not suitable for: Not suitable for long-range precision shots, maximum magnification, or uncompromising law enforcement/duty requirements.

Features & operation

Use both eyes open to see environment and target simultaneously
Set brightness as low as possible and as high as necessary
Always check point of impact after mounting
Check footprint carefully for pistol or offset mounts

Note:
Always check compatibility, mounting, firm fit, and function before use. After mounting any optic or point-of-impact relevant parts, shoot a control group. Vector Optics is a strong budget to mid-range solution for civilian use – do not classify as uncompromising law enforcement/duty gear.

FAQ
What is this red dot intended for? For quick target acquisition at short to medium distances – ideal for training, range, dynamic drills
and hunting situations with quick target acquisition.
What is the most important mounting point? Footprint and height must fit. A wrong adapter leads to poor head position or lack of compatibility.
Is a red dot precise enough? Yes, for its purpose. A red dot is fast but not a replacement for a scope if you want to engage small targets precisely at distance.
Why use both eyes open? This way you keep both the environment and the target in view at the same time. That’s exactly the advantage over magnifying optics.
Who is it not suitable for? Not for users expecting maximum distance precision, military duty toughness, or optical magnification.

Especially with Vector Optics, the right classification decides the benefit: Don’t choose by datasheet alone, but by use, mounting, target distance, and real application.
