When zeroing or at a prepared stand, every small correction costs time and concentration. The RSGR-12 supports a long gun on two rubberized V-rests and allows adjusting their distance from 21 to 36 cm. On a suitable tripod, this creates a compact, repeatably set up two-point rest.

Our honest assessment
The RSGR-12 is not an independent bipod or tripod, but the horizontal rest head for a compatible tripod. Its advantage lies in supporting the fore- and buttstock: this relieves strain while observing and makes for a steady, reproducible setup easier. For this, it is significantly heavier and bulkier at 540 g manufacturer weight than a single V-yoke.


Fits well if … you want to rest a long gun on a RokStad system or a sturdy tripod with 1/4″-20 mount at two points.


Fits less if … you are looking for a solution mounted directly on the firearm, maximum mobility, or an ultra-light stalking rest.
What the construction practically changes


Two adjustable V-rests allow 21 to 36 cm spacing to adapt to different stock geometries. Rubber on the ABS rests increases grip and protects the surface.


Stable material combination 6061-T6 aluminum on the platform and a steel connection give the setup stability. The platform is 40 cm long.


Standard thread plus adapter The international manufacturer page lists a 1/4″-20 threaded socket and adapters for the RokStad system. This means it is not limited to a single tripod model.


More stability, less dynamics The two-point rest is designed for controlled positions. Quick swinging or frequent position changes are not its strength.

Instructor and user note
First align the tripod securely, then position both rests on the unloaded firearm. Do not clamp the firearm between the V-rests: lateral or vertical pressure can affect the point of aim and impact location. After any change in spacing, adapter, or tripod height, re-zero and shoot a control group.

Assembly, safety and care
Before each use, check threads, adapters, clamps, and tripod stability. Use the rest only on a tripod suitable for the total weight and center of gravity. Never leave a rested firearm unattended and always keep it pointed in a safe direction. Keep rubber surfaces clean and free of grease; remove sand and dust before resting. Clean threads dry and treat only as per manufacturer instructions.

Is the RSGR-12 a complete tripod? No. It is a two-point rest head. For use, a suitable RokStad system or a sufficiently load-bearing tripod with a compatible connection is required.
Does it only fit RokStad? The manufacturer lists a 1/4″-20 threaded socket for many standard photo tripods and adapters for the RokStad system. Load capacity, thread, and secure connection must be checked before use.
Which firearms fit in the V-rests? The rubberized V-rests are designed for various long gun stocks. Crucial are a secure, tension-free rest and a center of gravity that the used tripod reliably supports.
Can the rest change the point of impact? The rest itself does not aim. However, a different stock rest, lateral pressure, or clamping can affect the point of aim and impact location. Therefore, check after modifications or position changes.
