405 nm UV · 2 × AA · compact inspection lamp
NEXTORCH C2 UV – 405 nm inspection lamp with clear task focus
The C2 UV is a compact UV light source for fluorescent markings, materials, and security features. NEXTORCH offers the current C2 UV with 405 nm, up to 40 hours runtime on low mode, and powered by 2 × AA batteries.
Important before purchase: 405 nm is not the same as 365 nm. If your inspection procedure explicitly requires 365 nm, the C2 UV is not the right choice.

Black Raptor – product assessment
From our dealer team · Editorial classification
If you want to specifically check fluorescent markings, we like the C2 UV’s straightforward concept: a specialized UV LED, an aluminium housing, and powered by two standard AA cells. Spare batteries can easily be planned into a mobile inspection kit.
The strongest reason to buy for us is the combination of handy size and simple power supply. The lamp complements your tool bag or inspection gear usefully when the respective material is to be checked with this UV light source. The included lanyard makes handling safer.
Our practical tip: First test a known fluorescent reference material at the highest possible
little stray light. A visible reaction helps locate a marking but does not replace the intended procedure for identifying a substance or verifying authenticity. Aim the light source controlled onto the test surface and avoid direct eye contact with the LED.
Dealer contribution from Black Raptor based on manufacturer information, without claiming an independent model test. Product information from NEXTORCH

Works well if … you specifically need 405-nm UV light for fluorescent markings, document features, workshop or inspection tasks and prefer AA cells.

Not suitable if … your material explicitly requires 365 nm, you are looking for normal white light, or want to derive a reliable substance or authenticity determination from fluorescence alone.

Features and practical effect

405-nm wavelength 405 nm is close to the visible violet range. Depending on the material, this can make more violet reflected light visible than with typical 365-nm inspection lamps.

2 × AA AA cells are easy to replace. Use two matching cells of the same type and charge level together.

Up to 3,600 cd NEXTORCH specifies a maximum of 3,600 candela. For UV light, this value is not comparable to the subjective brightness effect of a white light lamp.

Compact format With about 151 × 26 × 19 mm and 72 g without batteries, the lamp remains handy for a tool bag, vehicle, or inspection kit.

Limits, disadvantages and avoiding bad purchases

Do not confuse 405 nm and 365 nm: The specification of the material or test procedure is decisive. A visible reaction under UV light initially only indicates that something fluoresces.
Manufacturer’s information on water protection is currently contradictory: The technical specification on the current NEXTORCH product page states IPX7, while the descriptive text on the same page states IPX4. Until NEXTORCH unifies this, we deliberately treat the specific protection class as unclear and do not recommend selecting the lamp based on a submersion rating.

Technical data with practical interpretation

Wavelength 405 nm according to the current NEXTORCH product page – decisive if your material requires a defined UV wavelength.

Maximum runtime Up to 40 hours on low setting according to the manufacturer; cell type, temperature, and battery condition affect practical use.

Max. beam intensity 3,600 cd according to the manufacturer.

Power supply 2 × AA; NEXTORCH currently states the batteries are included.

Water protection Current manufacturer page contradictory: technical table IPX7, descriptive text IPX4. Therefore, no further durability statement at present.

Shock resistance 1 m according to current manufacturer information. After a hard impact, check housing, lens, and battery compartment.

Dimensions 151 × 26 × 19 mm according to the manufacturer.

Weight 72 g without batteries according to the manufacturer.

Use and safety

Work with reference If possible, first test a known reacting material. This helps better assess whether the light source, distance, and ambient light suit the task.

Reduce stray light A darker environment usually improves contrast. Vary angle and distance to avoid confusing reflections with fluorescence.

Protect eyes Do not look directly into the LED or strong reflections and avoid unnecessary exposure of eyes and skin.

Verify results Do not rely solely on a visible fluorescence reaction for critical decisions, but verify with the intended test procedure.

Scope of delivery
1 × NEXTORCH C2 UV, 2 × AA batteries and carrying strap according to current manufacturer information.

FAQ
Does the C2 UV have 405 nm? Yes. The current NEXTORCH product page lists the C2 UV with 405 nm.
Is 405 nm better than 365 nm? Not generally. The suitable wavelength depends on the material or safety
feature.
What protection class does the C2 UV have? NEXTORCH gives contradictory information on the same current product page: IPX7 in the technical table and IPX4 in the description text. Therefore, we do not provide any further protection approval until the manufacturer has clarified this.
Can the lamp safely identify stains or materials? No. It can make fluorescent areas visible but does not reliably identify which material is present.
Can it be used as a normal flashlight? No. The C2 UV is a specialized UV inspection lamp without a normal white light function.

Black Raptor · clearly classified
The C2 UV fits if 405 nm really suits your task. The AA power supply and compact format are practical; we deliberately do not hide the currently contradictory manufacturer information about water protection.
