NEXTORCH Saint Torch 31 · mobile high-performance searchlight
When not just a few meters at the field edge count, but the entire search sector.
The Saint Torch 31 bundles up to 20,000 ANSI lumens, 740 meters standard range, and a large battery pack in a portable searchlight. Its strength is quick overview of wide areas. Its price for that: 1,500 g with battery, a turbo start with very high glare and heat output, and a proprietary power system.
The short buying answer: It fits if range, area, and long operating time are clearly more important than compact dimensions and one-handed mobility.
Check usage profile and limits
Our honest assessment
20,000 lumens are no fantasy number for the Saint Torch 31: 1Lumen measured 20,374 lumens after 30 seconds. Equally important is the runtime behavior. In the independen
a typical handheld lamp. The HM30 handle relieves the hand and offers a tripod mount. Shoulder strap and carrying case make the system more mobile, but don’t change the fact that 1.5 kg gets tiring during extended free handling.
For mobile search
Pre-adjust strap length and handle position. Cables, clothing, and equipment must not obstruct the lamp head, cooling surfaces, or switches.
For stationary illumination
Use the handle or tripod mount, secure the lamp against tipping over, and do not direct the beam through pedestrian paths. Do not rely solely on the tailstand on soft or uneven ground.
Battery pack, charging, and deployment planning
The Saint Torch 31 uses a modular Li-ion battery pack with 6 × 4,800 mAh at 21.6 V. Charging is via USB-C; the manual states about eight hours charging time. In USB mode, the pack can serve as a power bank for external devices.
Important limit: The pack is not an open battery holder for any six 21700 cells. An empty or defective pack cannot be replaced in the field with loose standard cells. For critical tasks, charging plan, charge status monitoring, and an independently powered backup lamp are part of preparation.

Safety and care
Protect eyes and reflections
Never look into the beam or shine on people or animals. NEXTORCH explicitly warns against direct illumination in high mode from less than 50 m. The product is not suitable for children under 16 years.
Take heat seriously
The lamp head can become very hot in high-performance operation. Keep cooling surfaces clear, use the handle, and do not cover the lamp with clothing, bag material, or easily flammable objects.
Secure transport
For storage and transport, switch the battery pack to OFF or separate head and pack. The test mode described in the manual disables proximity control and is not for normal use.
After moisture and dirt
Rinse with clean water after saltwater or corrosive substances. Dry completely before charging, keep threads and O-ring clean, and replace a damaged O-ring.
Frequently asked questions about the Saint Torch 31
Does it hold 20,000 lumens continuously? No. 20,000 lumens is the very high starting output in turbo. The independent 1-lumen test confirms the value after 30 seconds but also shows the thermally induced step-down during the first minutes.
How far can I actually identify? The 740 m is a standardized nominal range, not a guaranteed
Identification distance. Real visibility depends on weather, target size, contrast, reflections, and the user’s experience.
Can the flashlight start on Low? No. It starts in Turbo and has no mode memory. If you need to control in close range and start with low glare, you need an additional flashlight with directly selectable Low.
Can I use six individual 21700 batteries? No. The six cells are part of a modular, proprietary battery pack. Loose user cells are not an intended replacement.
Is IPX7 equivalent to a diving flashlight? No. IPX7 indicates tested temporary water resistance up to 1 m under defined conditions. It is not approval for planned diving or underwater operation.
When should I rather look at the Saint Torch 30C? If you want to compare a more mobile system within the Saint Torch range and maximum reserve is not the only criterion. Weight, operating logic, beam pattern, and runtime must fit the specific task.
