Hornady CX .224 50 gr | lead-free hunting bullet. #22402

Lead-free .224 projectile for controlled hunting performance Monolithic CX design for reliable performance The Hornady CX in caliber .224 with 50 gr / 3.2 g projectile weight is a modern lead-free hunting bullet for users who value controlled bullet performance, high-quality manufacturing, and a design consistently tailored to hunting requirements. The CX series (Copper alloy eXpanding) is based on a monolithic copper alloy and combines this with an aerodynamically optimized bullet shape. The Heat-Shield tip supports defined expansion behavior while also contributing to favorable external ballistics. Hornady's design approach aims to combine reliable expansion with high retained weight even at varying impact velocities. Relief grooves on the bullet body reduce the bearing surface in the barrel and support controlled internal ballistics. With a diameter of .224", a weight of 50 gr, and a G1 ballistic coefficient of .164, this version is especially designed for corresponding .22 caliber applications. The sectional density is .142. Due to the lead-free design, the CX is particularly suitable for hunting applications where lead-free bullets are required or specifically preferred. Hornady item no. 22402 is supplied in a packaging unit with 50 bullets and complements the reloading range with a technically consistent hunting bullet solution from an established US manufacturer. Technical data:Manufacturer: HornadyProduct series: CXItem no.: 22402Bullet diameter: .224" / 5.69 mmBullet weight: 50 gr / 3.2 gBullet type: CX, lead-freeConstruction: monolithic copper alloyBallistic coefficient: G1 BC .164Sectional density: .142Application: HuntingPackaging unit: 50 bullets
