Hornady ELD-X Bullets 6.5 mm/.264 143 gr | 100 Pieces Item 2635

Hunting bullet with high precision for variable distances Heat Shield tip, InterLock ring and high ballistic coefficient The Hornady ELD-X bullets in caliber 6.5 mm/.264 with 143 Grain combine match-grade precision with controlled hunting terminal performance over different shooting distances. The aerodynamically optimized Heat Shield tip is made of heat-resistant polymer and retains its defined shape even under strong aerodynamic heating. This keeps bullet geometry, air resistance and ballistic performance as constant as possible throughout the entire flight. The slim secant ogive, the matched boat-tail and the concentrically manufactured AMP bullet jacket support high aerodynamic efficiency and reproducible shot groups. At higher impact velocities, the bullet expands continuously, while the reinforced rear jacket area and the InterLock ring stabilize core and jacket. Hornady specifies a weight retention of about 50 to 60 percent for this velocity range. At lower impact velocities, the Heat Shield tip presses into the bullet core and continues to initiate controlled expansion. According to the manufacturer, the bullet can achieve a weight retention of about 85 to 90 percent. The Hornady ELD-X 143 gr is suitable for powerful 6.5 mm hunting cartridges and is designed for precision, velocity retention and reliable penetration. The pack contains 100 bullets; the manufacturer’s bulk pack contains 1,500 pieces. This is not ready-to-shoot ammunition.Technical data:Caliber: 6.5 mm / .264″Bullet weight: 143 Grain (9.27 g)Bullet shape: ELD-X with Heat Shield tip and boat-tailBullet profile: aerodynamic secant ogiveBallistic coefficient: G1 0.623 / G7 0.314 at high velocityOther BC values: G1 0.604 / G7 0.303 as well as G1 0.584 / G7 0.294Sectional density: approx. 0.293Bullet diameter: .264″Bullet construction: lead core, AMP jacket and InterLock ringPackaging: 100 pieces per packManufacturer bulk packaging: 1,500 piecesArticle number: Hornady 2635Ignition: not applicable – bullet component for reloadingRecommended twist: approx. 1:8″ or faster, depending on cartridge, velocity and barrel length
