Hornady ECX Bullets 6.5 mm/.264 140 gr lead-free | 50 pieces Item 263364

Monolithic hunting bullet for European cartridge chambers Copper alloy, flat polymer tip and controlled expansion The Hornady ECX bullets in caliber 6.5 mm/.264 with 140 Grain are lead-free hunting bullets for reloaders who want to combine high material stability, controlled expansion and reliable penetration. ECX stands for Extreme Copper alloy eXpanding and refers to a monolithic construction made of a durable copper alloy. Since there is no separate lead core, the bullet cannot separate into jacket and core. Hornady specifies a retained weight of up to 95 percent, which supports deep penetration and effective energy transfer. The flat polymer tip is pushed into the front cavity upon impact, initiating uniform expansion. Optimized relief grooves reduce the contact area in the barrel, limit friction and simultaneously improve aerodynamic efficiency. The ECX was specially developed for international markets and tuned for reliable function in different cartridge chambers as well as traditional European chamber dimensions. With a G1 coefficient of 0.301, the bullet offers practical external ballistics for various 6.5 mm hunting cartridges. The package contains 50 bullets; the manufacturer’s bulk packaging includes 1,250 pieces. These are exclusively bullet components for reloading and not ready-to-shoot ammunition. Reloading data must be taken from tested Hornady documents and matched to firearm, cartridge chamber, powder, case, primer and overall length.Technical data:Caliber: 6.5 mm / .264″Bullet weight: 140 Grain (9.07 g)Bullet shape: ECX with flat polymer tipBullet construction: monolithic copper alloy, lead-freeBallistic coefficient: G1 0.301Sectional density: 0.287Bullet diameter: .264″Retained weight: up to 95 percentPackaging: 50 pieces per packArticle number: Hornady 263364Ignition: not applicable – bullet component for reloadingRecommended twist: approx. 1:8″, depending on cartridge, velocity and barrel length
