Hornady CX Bullets 6.5 mm/.264 – 120 gr Item 261104

Monolithic copper bullet for high retained weight and deep penetration Heat Shield tip and optimized groove geometry for stable precision The Hornady CX bullets in caliber 6.5 mm/.264 with 120 grain are lead-free, monolithic hunting bullets for reloaders who expect high precision, reliable expansion, and pronounced penetration. The one-piece bullet body made of a special copper alloy prevents separation of core and jacket and supports a weight retention of up to 95 percent. The aerodynamic Heat Shield tip is made of heat-resistant polymer and retains its shape even at high flight speeds. This keeps the ballistic coefficient as constant as possible over the entire trajectory, while the defined tip initiates uniform expansion upon impact. The optimized groove geometry reduces the bearing surface in the barrel, limits friction and deposits, and supports reproducible pressure conditions. At the same time, the streamlined rear shape improves flight stability and energy retention at hunting-relevant distances. The CX bullet is designed for controlled mushrooming, high retained weight, and deep penetration, making it suitable for various powerful 6.5 mm loadings. The combination of lighter bullet weight and efficient design supports a flat trajectory as well as quick, reproducible target response. Hornady lists this version under article number 261104. Delivered are 50 bullets per sales pack or 1,250 pieces per carton. These are exclusively reloading components and not ready-to-shoot ammunition. For safe load development, suitable components, published Hornady load data, and the specifications of the firearm, powder, and component manufacturers are binding.
