The high bullet weight of 9.91 grams combines excellent velocity retention with high wind stability and efficient external ballistics at long distances. A central design feature is the precision-machined aluminum tip, which is longer and more dimensionally stable than a classic polymer tip. This shifts the center of gravity deliberately and improves flight stability. The patented DVRT tip features a flat meplat that reduces fluctuations in air resistance and supports smaller group sizes at extended ranges. Hornady combines ogive, tip length, bearing surface, and boat-tail specifically for each caliber into an aerodynamically optimized overall profile. The advanced AMP bullet jacket ensures high concentricity and uniform jacket wall thickness. For maximum manufacturing consistency, the bullets are continuously packed directly from the production process and only minimally post-processed. An included polishing bag allows preparation of the bullets before seating. For optimal bullet guidance, Hornady recommends using a matching A-Tip seating die.
