For sale is a Smith & Wesson Model 686-3 revolver in .357 Magnum with a 4" barrel and stainless finish.

The revolver is in good, well-maintained overall condition. The stainless surfaces are well preserved and show only signs of age and use. The barrel is mirror-bright, and the firearm has a valid CIP proof mark.

A special feature of this example is the gunsmith-installed DAO (Double Action Only) modification. The hammer has been modified accordingly, so the revolver can only be used in Double Action mode. The modification was originally made to optimize the firearm for concealed carry by removing the protruding hammer spur.

The trigger has also been reworked and tuned, and fitted with an adjustable trigger stop. The Double Action trigger pull is exceptionally smooth and has an excellent feel.

An enlarged thumb piece / cylinder release (Pos. 21) has also been installed. The original Smith & Wesson wooden grip panels with S&W medallions are included and are in good condition.

Important condition note:
The cylinder stop / locking bolt (Pos. 65) and its spring (Pos. 66) are missing. The corresponding Smith & Wesson exploded diagram with part numbers is included in the offer and will be provided. The firearm is therefore expressly offered as needing repair. The required repairs have been taken into account in the price.
