For sale is an original Czechoslovak semi-automatic rifle vz. 52/57 in caliber 7.62×39 mm. The firearm is in good, age-appropriate used condition and is an interesting piece of military history from the early Warsaw Pact era. The vz. 52/57 was developed as an evolution of the vz. 52 introduced in the early 1950s. While the original model was chambered for the Czechoslovak cartridge 7.62×45 mm, the design was later adapted to the Warsaw Pact standard 7.62×39 mm M43 cartridge. The resulting vz. 52/57 was produced and used for only a relatively short time before the Czechoslovak armed forces switched to a more modern weapon concept with the introduction of the vz. 58 in the late 1950s. This makes the 52/57 an interesting transitional design between classic military semi-automatic rifles and later assault rifles. Characteristic features include the unique Czechoslovak design with its distinctive wooden stock, detachable box magazine, and military sights.
