Other: The Helix from Merkel has set standards in ergonomics and intuitive handling as a linear repeater with a translated bolt.

Now the Suhl hunting rifle specialist follows up with a stock development tailored to the Helix system. The new SpeedStock is a plastic (hole stock) design that takes completely new paths for a hunting rifle. Combined with the open OmegaGrip on top, this stock concept merges two classic stock principles into an ergonomic and fast new development. The OmegaGrip guides hand and thumb during cycling – like on rails. The SpeedStock is used exclusively for the first time on the new Helix Speedster.

Version: Removable sights and muzzle thread M15x1.

Relaxed shooting position

Like the hole stock, the new SpeedStock allows a relaxed mounting with a steep pistol grip and the trigger finger parallel to the barrel axis – both ensure a reproducible, relaxed hold and an optimal precision shot. The good ergonomics of classic hole stock designs in single shot only reveal their weaknesses when reloading: when quickly cycling, threading the thumb in and out of the stock hole is cumbersome. This problem is eliminated with the new SpeedStock.

The thumb glides like on rails along the ergonomic stock shape into the OmegaGrip in shooting position – and out again when cycling. The cocking slider can also be easily operated with the thumb on the open SpeedStock without awkward repositioning – another safety and ergonomic advantage of the innovative stock.

Hole stock with height-adjustable cheekpiece

Merkel has further optimized its hole stock development. The automatically height-adjustable stock comb MemoryCheek-Piece ensures a reproducible cheek weld. A spring storage element with memory function finely
