Altaïr uses a one-eyed curved sword-like melee sword with elegant, classic decorations. In many depictions, it is a long, two-handed sword or a more compact katana-like sword, depending on the games, comics, film. The sword stands for skill, stealth, and the Assassin identity – part of Altaïr's iconic look along with the hooded cloak and the Animus context. Throughout the series, there are variations and iconic swords, but Altaïr's original sword remains a tribal feature of his character.
