The .30-06 is probably the most popular universal caliber, with which almost all game species on Earth have certainly been hunted. The effective range of the cartridge, which can be loaded with RWS bullets from 9.7 g to 13.0 g, extends up to about 300 m. The cartridge was developed in 1903 and received its final dimensions in 1906, the year it was also introduced as a service cartridge in the USA ("Ball Cartridge, Caliber .30, Model of 1906"). The cartridge quickly became very popular as a hunting and sporting cartridge. The .30-06 Springfield is also manageable for shooters sensitive to recoil.
