The abbreviation stands for “Super Shock Tip“. The Hornady® SST® was designed to deliver a rapid, shock-like energy transfer on impact. The aerodynamically efficient shape with a polymer tip ensures outstanding precision and effect even at long distances. The alloyed bullet core and the InterLock ring also guarantee controlled deformation and sufficient penetration, even on larger game.
Polymer tip
The streamlined polymer tip improves ballistic flight and accelerates energy transfer on impact.
Secant ogive, torpedo tail profile
It’s a fact: bullets with higher impact velocity deliver more energy to the target. The ballistically efficient shape helps the SST® deliver more energy to the target even at long ranges.
Crimp groove
