The 8x57 IS was developed in 1905 from the old military cartridge 8x57 I – the S stands for Spitz-Geschoss (pointed bullet). This versatile caliber can be used optimally on all game found in Europe, as it generally causes less hematoma formation. GECO offers a wide selection of this popular caliber with the 12.0 g soft point bullet and Target, as well as the 12.7 g heavy GECO Plus bullet. For all lead-free fans, there is another load with the GECO ZERO and 9.0 g bullet weight.
