The Hornady Superformance® SST® (Super Shock Tipped) in the proven universal caliber .308 Winchester is the unconditional recommendation for demanding driven hunts and mountain hunts. Loaded with a 10.7g (165 grs) heavy SST bullet, this premium rifle ammunition delivers maximum terminal energy, outstanding range, and excellent inherent accuracy. The aerodynamically elongated projectile with boattail and distinctive red polymer tip in front of a concealed cavity causes a lightning-fast, reliable bullet expansion upon impact in the game body and massive shock effect – for shortest flight distances and maximum instant effect. At the same time, the antimony-hardened lead core and the proven InterLock® ring in the bullet jacket guarantee a firm bond between core and jacket, ensuring high penetration depth and reliable exit even when hitting bone. Thanks to the innovative Hornady Superformance propellant technology, the load achieves an outstanding muzzle velocity of 866 m/s and enormous energy of over 4,000 joules (E0) at absolutely manageable gas pressure.
