The new CZ 457 family is the advanced successor to the proven CZ 455 series and features a thoughtful, modular design that masterfully combines classic style with state-of-the-art manufacturing. Compared to existing models and other manufacturers, the 457 series is a decisive step ahead of the competition in terms of improved safety, accuracy, and durability. It is the perfect rimfire rifle for demanding sports shooters, long-distance training, as well as precise predator and small game hunting.

The 457 Varmint model is equipped with a noble, lacquered walnut wood stock in a straight design (without cheekpiece). The well-thought-out stock geometry allows for an absolutely steady, repeatable cheek weld for both right- and left-handed shooters alike. The system is precisely bedded from the factory, which together with the thick-walled Varmint barrel ensures outstanding shooting performance. All exposed metal components are finished with an exceptionally durable corrosion protection coating, giving the rifle an indestructible lifespan even under harsh weather conditions.
Cold Hammered Match-Grade Barrel and 60° Bolt

The highlight of the Varmint version is its 52.5 cm (525 mm) long, thick-walled, cold hammered Match-Grade barrel with 1:16 twist. At the muzzle, the proven rimfire standard thread 1/2"x20 UNF is standard, perfectly prepared from the factory for the secure attachment of modern suppressors or muzzle brakes. The cylindrical bolt impresses with a reduced opening angle of only 60° (compared to the CZ 455) by 30°. This allows for lightning-fast cycling and reliably prevents collisions between the hand or bolt handle and bulky scope eyepieces.

An open sight was omitted in favor of unrestricted optic use. Instead, the receiver features a milled 11 mm dovetail rail for stable mounting of match scopes. A new firing pin that is 62% lighter significantly reduces lock time. A red signal pin on the bolt shroud also serves as a tactile and visible cocking indicator. Cartridge feeding is via a removable 5-round detachable magazine (fully compatible with magazines from the CZ 455 series; 10-round magazines optionally usable).
Fine Adjustable Match Direct Trigger and Intuitive Safety

For perfect shot placement, the modern direct trigger can be finely adjusted between 800 g and 1,500 g trigger pull. The trigger breaks cleanly and crisply, reliably preventing pulling the shot off target at the moment of firing. In terms of safety, the 457 relies on an ergonomic sliding safety on the right side of the receiver that blocks the trigger and firing pin. With a total weight of 3.2 kg, the Varmint rifle sits extremely solid and vibration-free on the shoulder.
