Rifle Factory Oberndorf Pioneer Firing Pin Rifle M1870

Württemberg Zündnadelkarabiner M1870 for pioneers and artillery M1870, manufactured in 1870 at the Gewehrfabrik Oberndorf (the later Mauser works). A total of 1500 units of this model are said to have been produced.

This appears to be an unissued chamber piece without a year stamp of issue and without troop stamp. Only on the doper of the unloading stock is a sequence of numbers that resembles a troop stamp (2.1.149).

Barrel length approx. 60cm, total length approx. 106cm.
Mount for bayonet or hunting dagger.

Without firing pin and without rubber seal!

In my opinion, very good unmodified original condition. The rifle shows a very nice patina in my opinion, which comes from decades of use as wall decoration. Concealed metal parts (system inside, chamber underside) are nicely bright. Mirror-bright barrel. A rare model and certainly hardly available in this condition.
