Barnes Harvest Collection .270 Win. 9.1 g / 140 gr Sierra Tipped GameKing hunting ammunition – 20 pieces #32399
The Barnes Harvest Collection in caliber .270 Winchester is a powerful hunting load for medium and larger thin-skinned game. Barnes combines its own high load standards with the 9.1 g / 140 gr Sierra Tipped GameKing (TGK) and combines high precision, a flat trajectory, and reliable hunting bullet performance. The used Sierra Tipped GameKing is a modern jacketed bullet with a lead core and polymer tip. The aerodynamically optimized bullet shape reduces air resistance and supports velocity retention at longer distances. At the same time, the TGK is designed for reliable expansion over a wide range of hunting impact velocities. The 140-gr Tipped GameKing has a bullet diameter of 7.04 mm / .277" and achieves a ballistic coefficient of G1 0.508 and G7 0.224. The streamlined High-BC profile supports a flat trajectory and good energy retention. Barnes assigns the finished load to the use Hunting as well as the game categories Medium Game and Big Game. The muzzle velocity is approximately 2,960 fps or about 902 m/s according to Barnes. The 140-gr bullet achieves a muzzle energy of 2,724 ft-lb or about 3,693 J. At 200 yd / 182.9 m, about 791 m/s and approximately 2,842 J remain available. Even at longer distances, the load retains a significant portion of its velocity and energy. At 300 yd / 274.3 m, Barnes states about 739 m/s and 2,478 J, at 400 yd / 365.8 m about 689 m/s and 2,153 J. The manufacturer’s ballistics extend to 500 yd / 457.2 m and use 200 yd as the zero point of the trajectory table. Note on bullet construction: This Harvest Collection load is not lead-free. A Sierra Tipped GameKing with lead core, jacket, and polymer tip is loaded. It is not a Barnes TSX, TTSX, or LRX copper bullet.
